Too bad the deciding goal was a fluke but as most of you already know, flukes are part of the game. Team Canada's offensive power was enough to compensate the problems with the goaltending. The Slovaks had their chances but just when you need Brodeur to step up, he does show. IMO we saw only glimpses of Brodeurs talent. It seems that he isn't yet his normal level. Anyway, congrats to Team Canada and all the fans.

Great to see Thornton score the winner today. Yesterday he was gettin bashed on the Bruins thread about him coasting and not learning anything in the last year about leadership. I know he made a bad pass taday, but hopefully this goal will shut some of the Thornton critics up.

Sure he sucked,have'nt i been railing all this time that the Euro iihf refrees suck? and then you get the Euro's on here saying they are just fine but when Canada wins...........they suck!! Wow!! there's having your cake and eating it too now.The ref sucked for both teams,period.The biggest gaff they made was no penalty on the Vyradeny cheap shot.if not for that Canada may have won by more goals.Canada outplayed them,slovaks had the lead and could'nt keep it and that's their fault.....not the refs!!! Totally well earned and deserved win,they outplayed them and won,that's the name of the game.Fans from Europe have to deal with it and concentarte on what THEIR teams have to do to win......not sook when we outplay teams.Seems logical to me but logic isn't in good supply here at hfboards when it comes to fans of international hockey and it probably never will be.But please spare me from their fans who say we always cheat when we win fairly and are two time defending champs.You don't win twice in a row oiver here without earning it.Agree?Pepper said:

Your country should be renamed to Cheatada! shame on you! it's obvious that Cheatada has an advantage on all the other teams. Referees are all Canadians/wannabe Canadians! IIHF are wannabe Canadians! shame on IIHF for helping Cheatada to cheat!
