Wattanite at the Bell Centre, Habs win in OT!

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.
    • Our 2025 light and dark themes were lost, so we are rebuilding them. Light theme is currently available, but work in progress

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

Lot of players contributing to this streak.

Dach seems less tentative and playing more physical, which is getting him to play his skill game more. Man it would solve a huge issue if he could be our 2C.

I have to mention Pezz. Guy plays every shift. He is has a 1.0 plus HPM ( hits per minute ).

I think the impact of Carrier is underestimated; he puts everyone in the right chair . Matheson doesnt need to play 30 minute games with Carrier and Hutson taking on defensive and offensive missions. Struble and Wifi have less responsibilities, which is perfect. Marc Denis (color commentator for habs games on RDS) made some good points that even Guhle was noticeably better with Carrier at his side.

I'm especially impressed that Savard and Laine havent played the last 3 games and you can't really tell.

I was sure they were going to collapse with Monty playing bad and how they started the 2nd period. But they said nope and "screw you Refs!" instead.

Officially in WC1 until tonight Jacket/Pen game.
Going to OT with the Canucks helps them stay above the Flames in the standing too. So perfect "tank-mix" night.

Who had the Habs in a playoff spot and playing above .500 before playing game 42 after that 2-10-0 start?

Habs don't know how to lose to good teams anymore.

At this point this team is probably getting underestimated around the league due to our poor start and the last few years of tanking. But right now the Habs are showing that when they play to their potential as a cohesive unit they can beat anyone in the league.

What they need now is consistency and not getting into losing streaks. You cannot win every game but losing one here and there is acceptable. Winning 5 in a row only to lose 6 after that is not.

Hopefully they can keep riding the current good vibe they are on. If they do this team is making the playoffs. Erasing Toronto in the first round would be glorious lol

Its the biggest lesson, that teams can have talent but if people are in the wrong chairs, the downstream impact it can have, can make good teams look terrible.

I'm reading that Monty played a bad game. I really don't see it. Did he play Dobes-ish like? No, but he was good enough for us to win. In saying that, I'd like to see Dobes get the next start.
Don't think it was bad bad, but not great game. The consensus was that with Dobes this isn't going into OT. Habs win in regulation. No need to help canucks with extra points.

I can see that. Maybe I'm just old and grumpy lol. I'm just not ready to hand over the #1 spot to Dobes just yet. Monty is still our #1. Dobes, if he continues to show what he has so far. Will get his chance.
