OT: Watcha Listenin' To? Part VIIII: Nine lives, cat's eyes

This is great stuff,. The Crowes are one of my favorite bands, one of the last true "rock and roll" bands, IMO.

They played very well with Page. A shame the brothers were such a shit show and messed it all up.

One of my favorite Zep songs....out of probably 20 or so, lol.

My Dad is in a bad way health wise. He's my lifelong buddy.

I keep hearing this song in my head. This is a clip of me playing it from a little while ago.

I've been having a hard time lately. I don't even want to play my drums anymore, even though I'm pretty good at it. Just trying to keep on keepin' on each day when I wake up. I'm not married. I don't have kids. My girlfriend (of 6 years) and I broke up a year ago. I'm kind of on an island. Again, keep on keepin' on, I guess. I'll push through it eventually. At least I have in the past. Sorry to be a bummer. Good song though.

We went to see Beth Gibbons at the Met last night. Unbelievable show. First US tour in 17 years, so we're heading down to DC to see it again tonight. And maybe NYC tomorrow.

The Crowes + Page shows were so, so much better than that Page/Plant monstrosity.

great live version

I always enjoy seeing/hearing a bassist playing a Rick.

The keyboardist is like Wakeman in the heyday of Yes, lol. I know the old organs/pianos have different sounds, but how many do you really need, especially if they're modern keyboards/synths that can mimic the big 3 (Hammond, Rhodes, Wurlitzer) pretty well? Good jam though.

Love Portishead. Love love Portishead. Insanely groovy.

Would be nice if they made more than 3 albums in 30 years though.

The last time they released a record Giroux wasn't even in the NHL yet.

Happened to come across Road House while flipping channels.

Some great stuff from Jeff Healey. He takes it up to 11 around 6:45.

He became blind at a year old, and died of f***ing cancer at 41. He was a talent.

And yes, most Americans love Canada. I do. I feel like I've been living in some kind of bizarro world lately.

Most Canadians love America and Americans. I do.

Unfortunately the crazy pills have created this weird vibe that has never existed in mine, my parents', or my grandparent's lifetimes.

I'm glad you said that. 30 years ago I served my country in the Army as an Infantryman. These days, I'm embarrassed to call myself an American, to be honest. This is not the country I grew up in.. I could make it more political, but that's not the purpose of this board.

In addition to being an outstanding guitarist, Dave is also very intellectual.

Agreed. And the sad thing about Mustaine is that he harboured all this anger and insecurity / inferiority towards Metallica for most of his adult life. He was obsessed that they were charting better or selling out bigger shows or being featured as the metal gods.

Now that their respective careers are winding down, Megadeth has in my opinion been the better, more consistent metal band. I still listen to them on the regular - Metallica not so much, which is crazy because they were one of my biggest early influences.

My favorite Megadeth song. Man, they pulled it off....Dave singing while playing those riffs, and Friedman was on freaking fire. RIP Nick Menza too. I tried to play this once on drums like 25 years ago, and, nope. I stay in my lane. Usually if I know a song I can play it. Not this one; it was a hot mess.

As a teenager, I stopped listening to Metallica when they became hugely popular once the video for One came out. Suddenly the people that made fun of me for liking metal were wearing Metallica t-shirts. That was the last album I bought by them (I had it on cassette...CDs weren't a thing yet).
