GDT: Washington @Winnipeg - Tues Mar 25/25 - 7PM - TSN3/CJOB/POWER

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

No villardi or Pionk, Stan the Power Tool playing, Ovi chasing 99 and PLD on his revenge tour all leads me to believe it will be a game the Jets will want to forget.
I normally bristle at your negativity, but I'm finding myself on the same page as you on this one lol

I think you move Barron up to the first line and try him out there.
He has easily enough speed to keep up to them.
He’s strong along the boards and knows how to keep possession.
He adds a big body to that line and he’s also very defensively aware.
I think he would be a great fit there. At least we would find out if he has some scoring touch or not.
A nice big body that has a real good motor and is good defensively might help to keep that line honest and away from some of those bad habits they sometimes get into.

Scheifele and Connor need to lead the way tonight, but getting a goal or 2 from the bottom 6 on top of that would go a long way to helping secure a win.

If the top line fails to step up it’s going to be a long miserable game.

The Winnipeg Jets were considered a longshot to win the Stanley Cup at +2600 at FanDuel entering the season.

The Washington Capitals weren’t even in the Stanley Cup conversation at +7000.

Fast-forward five months later, both teams are among the top 10 choices to win it all at FanDuel, with equal odds.
Have been rooting for a Jets/Caps final all year. We were robbed of Buff vs Ovi in 2018, would have been a much better series than VGK/WAS.

Move over Stanley ... the new whipping boy is Appleton.
Wow the amount of hate on social media on Appleton is insane because Arniel is trying him out on the top 6?
Caps are a big heavy team and having a big checker on every line sounds like a smart move to me.
Appleton was not signed for his scoring even thou he has 2 GWGs this year ... his career high is 14 goals. His job is to shut down the opposing top lines.
What's even funnier in the Sabres loss the only forwards that were on the plus side.was Appleton and Lowry.
After 71 games and being in first place in the West for basically the whole season ... you guys think Arniel doesn't know what he is doing?
If Appleton is the reason why the Jets are losing go ahead and bash him but if he is not ... wtf are you doing?
Appleton just has the least upside of all of our players. Because of the pairing with Lowry he gets way too much ice time.
That's the problem.
Barron, Kupari, Gus are all still improving Appleton is what he is which is a defensive player.
If all our guys were healthy I would have a hard time dressing Mason.
Tanev seems to bring a lot more to the line with Lowry.
Iafallo is useful in many roles.
Appleton forechecks ok and overall does his job but moving him up the lineup is not a good choice.
Perfetti is hot as hell and we are essentially demoting him.

My big hope is that Nino can score some goals now that the monkey is off his back.
He was a big producer in Oct/Nov we need that guy.

I hope this top 9 approach works.
Even if I was going to go in this direction I would use essentially ANYONE else in the bottom 6 instead of Appleton.

If we fall behind I think they should try Cole with Scheif and Connor.
It may not be a good long term fit but I could see them doing some damage.

I would rather have Gretzky hold the record than a guy who just parks himself in the same position every night.
The way Ovi plays the game at this point is embarrassing

At least Gretz had the dignity to walk away from the game when he felt he wasn't performing up to his standards. He was 38 years old and had just put up 62 points in 70 games (but only 9 goals)

I want childhood memory Gretzky to have the record, the modern version... not so much.
But ya I'd prefer the tormented past Oilers massacres to be because they had a cheat code greatest of all time player.
Its easier to deal with that way.

These are the games the Jets have won all year long. The more Jets fans who think we will lose, the more likely it is we will win.
I have never wanted to be more wrong in my life. I cannot stand PLD and despite the fat he has made more in one season than most of us will ever make in10 lifetimes I want to see him fail

Is this the 72nd consecutive game you’ve predicted a Jets loss? Good thing you’ve been wrong nearly 50 times…
Nope, I picked the m to beat Buffalo and look what happened there. I will only say that I am a superstitious sports fan 88% of the time any more said and that might reveal too much other than I know the leas are winning the cup.
