I really hope that Streit in not in MTL top6 as season start. Not a fan of Davidson either.....

I would like to see Jerabek with Weber at some point in the preseason.

With the way Jerabek and Mete are playing today (Lernout last game) Streit is quickly dropping way down the list.

Sherbak is falling down the depth chart.

It's not looking good for him. He needs a great year in the a. He's just not ready, at all.

Judging by off-season videos, this is his first year training to get stronger. A lot of that probably had to do with knee injuries.

If they can get him stronger this year/off-season, I'm not worried about him. He's very talented, but there's definitely some refinement that is needed further.

Lefebvre has not been good for him. I don't think the trade to Everett helped much either.

Since this is a PP fest, let's comment on it. It's nice to see that not everything is funneled back to the point. Hopefully, it's a sign of things to come. Adding drouin and hemsky provides more creativity, and they might just be the 2 best saucer passers on the team, which is important too.

I forgot how it feels having good prospects after years of drafting scrubs. I really hope that Hudon and Mete makes it

Here
Skates very well.
Skates with his head up.
Nice velocity on his passes.
Mete is impressive, at 19 years old to boot.

Weber is pretty much useless on that PP if they're trying to work on the left side with Drouin and Hemsky.

They should use a left shot D on that setup.

I believe that Julien will keep 8 defenceman in MTL to start the season.

I don't believe they will keep Mete for the season debut, he's too green IMO.

I think they will go with:

Weber
Petry
Alzner
Benn
Jerabek
Lernout
Streit
Morrow/Davidson

The streit signing seemed a bit strange to me. I know depth at D is great to have, but still. Having said that, I don't think the intention was for streit to be a top 6 guy.

Honestly, unless the habs are playing 7 D, and striet is there mostly for PP, it's difficult to find a fit for him.

Simple, his play during his draft year and last year are very different. He's leaps and bounds better now than he was when he was drafted. (A bit like Subban developed)

Disagree. If he was 6'0 (or even 5'11), he would have been a first round pick.

He fell because most of the NHL is still in the MOAR BIG mindset when it comes to D.

His progression is a lot less exponential than Subban, but he was underestimated because of his size and playing for a stacked team (even when he was still the 2nd best D on his team).

Habs may not have an abundance of quality but they damn sure have quantity on the blue line

It's garbage because players have been cheating for years.

It's like if players would attempt to cheat on zone entry and would be offside 90% of the time and people would say this rule **** give them some slack and call the offsides only if it's 1 foot off.

It's all fine and dandy for now. But once the playoffs start the NHL will dust off the "old" rules book and keep the whistle in their pocket. :shakehead

Jerabek has ben quietly effective. He keeps things simple defensively and he doesn't waste time distributing the puck when he has it. I think he might have some potential.
