One of the proposed VA new stadium sites is in Sterling which selfish to say is a few miles from here

It's right by the airport and should be close to silver line

the other 2 are in PW county way far away

I thought Cuban was only guilty of not being hands-on enough to realize what was happening, and when he found out he took significant immediate action.

Is that not what happened?
From what I remember, Cuban reacted *after* the whole thing became public. I also know that the Mavericks are his baby. So to think he was 100% out of the loop is nonsense to me.

that said, I’m not saying he knew all of it. But I’m sure he knew some of it and simply focused on other things that he deemed more important at the time.

It’s a tough spot for the *Shit Waffles since DC taxpayers don’t want to fund anything and VA has already offered a billion dollars. Also height restriction is a thing in DC so some state of the art stadium could be hard to build. One reason FedEx is such a terrible experience is it isn’t close to anything, no bars or breweries to go to after a game. They need to be mindful of those things

Yeah. There was a graph someone posted of the nearest bar to every NFL stadium and Washington had a pretty bad ranking

The new place is going to have a retail spot mixed in so you can now go out of the stadium and walk 10 feet to a drinking bar instead of going straight home!

The beginning of the end of the Redball Team being a true centerpiece of the identity of being a "Washingtonian" was JKC moving the team out of the city.
Snyder's ownership tenure was a kill-shot that came after the initial harm was inflicted.
Taking the team just a few miles out of the city to a place nobody wants to go was hugely damaging. Moving it to an exurb where nobody wants to go and many of those who would want to can't get to, is going to put a couple of the final nails in the coffin.
When every other pro team representing the city is in the city, having arguably the worst one -- and clearly the worst managed one -- move further away from the city would just be doubling down on the Shit Wafflery.

Why would he?

Why would anyone who has another offer.

Have to think that now that Cincy and Buffalo are both legit contenders, the Shit Waffles are the least desirable FA or trade destination out there, in terms of football quality. I get that DC is a great city, and sometimes players make decisions about the geographic location over competitiveness and money, but really, why would anyone want to join this mess?

$$$$ is the only real reason.

The team is the New England Patriots not the Boston Patriots. And the current stadium was built directly adjacent to old Foxboro Stadium.
That’s not really the point. Point is plenty of people can get there even though it’s 40min south of the city. Being called “New England” doesn’t means it’s not Boston’s team. I went to UNH, and the Pats were certainly New Hampshire’s team as well, and many went to the games.

DC’s team is for DC, Virginia, and many many Marylanders.

Luckily for us, the Shit Waffle’s cash spends just like everyone else’s….otherwise yeah, why does anyone sign here?

So the Loudon site is apparently where Loudon Quarries is/was. Real close to the Dulles airport on the north side of 267. Woodbridge site is right would be right next to 95S on the west side. In google maps if you search for Penny's Used Auto Parts off of Minnieville Road look east between Telegraph Rd and 95S. The last site is all they down in a shit hole place also called Dumfries, VA, which, for the fans of Shit Waffles, would be appropriate location that fits the team. Apparently somewhere in Potomac Shores but kinda hard to see where there unless its the vacant area around Keys Ridge Rd..

WUSA9 has a vid up regarding the three sites.

Loudon site makes the most sense, imho.

Though Loudon County does not seem too thrilled at the idea.

Also some history on the failed Alexandria site. Pretty familiar with that area at the time I was fan of that location. Hindsight 20/20 considering how bad the stadium design was probably a good thing.

They have a sweet Jack Nicklaus golf course down in Potomac Shores that I usually play at least a couple times a year. It was supposed to be a hub for a giant housing development but shockingly nobody wants to live in Dumfries so there is tons of land available.
