horrendous hockey being played by the rangers. superb goaltending is masking their atrocious defense. it’s truly revolting to watch. the worst part about this is neither fanbase is really happy to watch these games. we’re unhappy because 80% of the game is in our zone and we’re f***ing up routine breakouts. the opposition is unhappy because they know they should be up by 3 or 4. it’s not an enjoyable product to watch.

sit lindgren for jones for f***s sake. stop trying to force a bad hockey player into a lineup. and these wins not only keep lav from attempting to make significant changes, but it raises igor’s asking price with all of these really good performances. it’s infuriating how basically every seriously engaged fan sees the issues, but the coaches don’t or just brush them aside or outright ignore them.

I don’t care that you’re getting points in the standings, this play will not f***ing work in the playoffs. that should be f***ing obvious.
Management obviously doesn't as they've employed this "method of madness" for decades hoping for a different result.

You're a die hard fan, right? Can you honestly tell me that being outshot in two games in a row by 50 is not concerning when it comes to the prospects of this team being a contender?
canucks swept Oilers in the regular season and outscored them 21-7 last year. How did that work out for them in the playoffs?

People put way too much stock in regular season games. Especially games in the first month of the season.

Team isn't going anywhere with clowns playing prominent roles (Lav, Trouba, Lindgren, Zib). All the problems we knew going into the year, will continue, and will rear their heads in the playoffs as all 4 get outcoached and outplayed again. Rangers org will learn nothing. 1 cup since ww2.

I agree. I'm not trying to imply everything is roses with the team. I just don't buy into the sky is falling narrative when we are 7-2-1 and only a little over 10% of the way through the season. I choose to believe that if what we've seen the past 2 games actually continues long term that changes (as much as can in season) will be made. Let's not forget that this team, even the youngsters, have a lot of playoff experience already. Taking nights off, not giving 100% throughout the season is something I very much expect to happen with this bunch. That in itself you could argue is concerning, but where did the President's Trophy get us last year?

I think we have to live and die with Zib this year. So hopefully our 3rd line taking the next step takes a bunch of weight off the top 6. The defense on the other hand, needs some major surgery between now and April.

Probably would have worked out better for them if they had Demko. Where's our McDavid? Our defense is broken, we have three good defensemen and one of them is on the third pairing. Laviolette thinks Lindgren and Trouba are both top 5 D-men. Trouba actually played well with Schneider. But Lindgren needs his top 4 minutes because he's a #WARRIOR! Imagine how bad he'd be if he didn't get beat up every other game. Seems like the only criteria for being a good defenseman.

Yes, moving on from Lindgren at the trade deadline still wouldn't be soon enough.

It's funny in a depressing way that our team is so soft and we want them to play harder, and our 2 toughest players suck and don't know how to use their physicality effectively.

I think this is the problem. Unless someone is not an NHL player like Rempe and is young it seems like fans just think if you're tough you're good. I recently got called a clown on Facebook because I said Fox was better defensively than Lindgren. Look, I don't completely think this is crazy because if I didn't know HF existed I might be one of those people.
