The team is doing a really poor job of managing the puck in many different ways. They're doing a poor job getting out of their own zone, poor job getting through the neutral zone, when they get into the zone, they're not getting it deep. When they are, they're not first man in. It looks disjointed, but teams have watched enough of how we play, they're aware of our breakouts, they're aware we're a little too much stick and not enough body and they're jumping our routes all over the ice. We need to play more physical, but we also need to be more escapable and find ways to transport the puck up the ice and into the zone. And we need to retrieve pucks and get shots from the point, crash the net. It's looking kinda ugly right now.

I've been saying this for years, I don't know why we don't have a bumper player to ease pressure off the boards in our own zone. For us, it's literally panic ring around the boards each time hoping it's topped by our player, which, if it is, it's an automatic turnover and taking back in the neutral zone and it comes right back in. The only way we get clean breakouts is if the other team is literally changing.
There's a bumper sometimes. Problem is that bumper is always facing towards our end.

PA from SI
5v5:

Miller/Fox: shots 7-2, scoring chances 6-2, 79% xGF%, goals 1-0
Lindgren/Trouba: shots 2-12, scoring chances 2-11, 14% xGF%
Mancini/Schneider: shots 3-15, scoring chances 2-10, 14% xGF%
Guess we are going to have to live with these pairings because Mancini is the new golden child. Laviolette is doing this team a disservice sitting jones.

Igor is the best goalie I've ever seen when the puck is pinned in our end, with guys being left open all around him. The only way to beat him is odd man rushes and breakaways.

Smith did some nice things

Fox Miller and Lindgren were off

I’m trying to develop a theory as to why Sam always calls all one syllable last namers by their first name but not Fox

horrendous hockey being played by the rangers. superb goaltending is masking their atrocious defense. it’s truly revolting to watch. the worst part about this is neither fanbase is really happy to watch these games. we’re unhappy because 80% of the game is in our zone and we’re f***ing up routine breakouts. the opposition is unhappy because they know they should be up by 3 or 4. it’s not an enjoyable product to watch.

sit lindgren for jones for f***s sake. stop trying to force a bad hockey player into a lineup. and these wins not only keep lav from attempting to make significant changes, but it raises igor’s asking price with all of these really good performances. it’s infuriating how basically every seriously engaged fan sees the issues, but the coaches don’t or just brush them aside or outright ignore them.

I don’t care that you’re getting points in the standings, this play will not f***ing work in the playoffs. that should be f***ing obvious.

Just play Jones, send Mancini to Hartford, and let him play 20 minutes.

Chad can sit in the pressbox.

Thanks God he only gave Lindgren the 1 year.
Lindgren won't be here next year, assuming Igor is re signed. Money doesn't work. Same with Trouba. I'm convinced there's an agreement that Trouba won't object to any trade in the summer.

I hope Lindgren's toilet clogs when he goes in the middle of the night
