They can't buy Holl out until next June anyway. They're stuck with him for this season.

His buyout next summer would be $1.133M for 25/26 and 26/27. Abdelkader is still on the books for 25/26.

Ya that's the exact point.

There are bad contracts and then there are middling contracts that in hindsight you'd prefer to not have but won't make or break your trajectory.

No GM will ever be perfect with every single deal they make.
