What's going on? So many cases of mono lately. Meier, Liljegren and someone else I'm forgetting right now...

Couturier also had mono, no?

Sucks for Meier and San Jose though, was he scheduled to make the opening night roster?

It's too bad, but he'll still get a chance. The Sharks already have too many forwards and young guys like Sorensen and Goldobin who could also challenge for a roster spot, so it's not a huge deal in the grand scheme of things. It's best for Meier to just focus on his health.

Agree. Mono can take a while to get out of your system, and even then getting back to game shape is likely to add a few weeks. Timo's a good prospect and a good kid. Hope he gets well soon and no lasting effects.

Kid has bust written all over him.. not surprising he won't make the team

As a Sharks fan capable of looking objectively at the team's system, completely agree. Mono or not, he was drafted way higher than he should have been and we'll be lucky if he turns into a 3rd liner.

objectively?

You're the same guy that was ecstatic that Meier got mono because it meant that the organization would gift a spot to Goldobin (and wouldn't "gift" a spot to Meier).

You hate Meier and love Goldobin, we get it.

Meier was in contention for a roster spot, but getting a lot of competition from Marcus Sorensen and lately Barclay Goodrow. Kevin Labanc is slated to play in his third straight game, so he's getting a very long look as a longshot. Tommy Wingels also looks re-energized and has said he's hoping to turn the corner on a bad 2015-16 season.

Goldobin has, as he does, been all over the map. I don't think he was in serious contention for a roster spot before Meier went down with mono, I don't see it now.

Not being rude but i'm not sure what that is supposed to mean.
My assumption is you're saying that Goldobin didn't have much chance of making the team prior to Meier contracting mono, but now does. Is that correct?
