Maybe a bit early to start a hype thread for a 96 born kid. But seeing as Nylander Altelius has one a think it's fair enough to start one for Vrana, too.

This kid has som serious offensive skill and amazing speed. He had ppg in J18 Elit södra with Linköpings HC and now has 4 points (2+2) in 2 games in Allsvenskan. He has been injured for a while and missed first five games of Allsvenskan. He scored two goals as underaged in World Under-17 Hockey Challenge with Czech Rep.

He almost always finds a way to get breakaways and when alone he is deadly. Great vision, passing, dekes, speed, shot and creativity. Downside is his defense which is a bit sloppy and soft but he'll have time to work with this.

Three goals in three games with czech rep. in the U17 four nations tournament in czech rep. Tied first in scoring by that with swedes Burakovsky and Bristedt. Vrana under aged though.

Pete Vrana's little bro ?

Don't think so.

He's now had two 5-point games in a row resulting in 20 points (12+8) in 8 games in J18 Allsvenskan södra -- this as two years younger than competition. Would be interesting to see what he could do in SuperElit top 10...

He played J20 topp-10 today and scored with a slapper in the top corner. Stood out with his technique, vision, speed and shot. He proabably had 10+ shots and really wanted to score. Didn't get any time in PP though. Will probably play J20 tomorrow as well.

Finished at 8 points (4+4) in 6 games in U18 WC and was tied #1 in the czech team in scoring.

Very good young player. Was already pretty much the Czech Republic's best young playmaker. He has some serious skill and is being produced properly up in Sweden. Definitely a boy to look out for in the future.

If he continues on this path, he should be the Czech Republic's most highly touted player since quite some time.

He is not the younger bro of Petr Vrana, by the way.

He is among the very best players of his age in Sweden, I would say him and William Nylander are the best forwards but I have watched far from everyone.

That's the all-time point record for a U16 player at the U18 World Juniors. It's a pretty remarkable accomplishment to have that kind of an impact at that age. Tavares played at the same age and had 5 points in 7 games.

A combination of Jakub Voracek, and Petr Vrana, the Mooseheads two greatest Euros in Franchise History....

He should come to Halifax then :):yo:

I guess he should make the 2013 WJC team if he continues like this.

I was just trying to find some information about this kid and i came across this article from a team called the Bradford Rattlers of GMHL( a league ive never heard). In a section of the article it states the the team has signed 95 born Czech forward, Jakub Vrana. Is this the same guy? I assume it is. But it just seems kinda of odd considering the other leagues he could of chosen from..ex USHL.
Any thoughts...?

It's a different Jakub Vrana than the one being discussed in this thread...

As the above poster said, yes, it's a different Vrana. The one discussed in this thread will be playing with Linköping J20 in the coming season (getting moved up from J18).

After missing the entire preseason due to a groin injury, Vrana's made his comeback with 3+1 in 2 games in SuperElit. Will be interesting to see what kind of numbers he can put up this season.

He just keeps scoring. He's scored in every game he's played this season. Now at 7+4 in 5 games in SuperElit. And he's scored two out of three penalty shots in shootout, none of them gwg though.

Has there been any talk of him making his pro debut? That's some sick production from an U17-aged player

No, honestly I don't think it's going to happen this season. I think he could probably do some damage even on highest level in Sweden but Linköping will probably not rush him. That and also his defensive game is not ready for SEL.

I'm an outsider on this topic as I have no clue about euro prospects, but is there any chance that he enters theCHL? I said he should come to Halifax as a joke, but we'll have a high euro pick next season, so I'm legitimately asking lol.

He is confirmed to play on Linköping mens team tomorrow against finnish team Kalpa in European Trophy!

On the 2nd line with Hjalmarsson and Himelfarb, this is gonna be AWESOME! :D Too bad I can't be there tonight... :( I'm not leaving my computer the entire night though, can't wait!

Will there be any streaming?
