Been a good day for basement TV hanging. Football earlier and now Bears, Caps, and GB/Detroit.

Damn. Born in 2000. Pretty soon, there will be players born in 2004, the year Ovechkin was drafted lol

Great effort from the Caps, for playing back2back
Not inspiring confidence that Dubois's worst game as a Capital by far was against their main divisional competition, but alright.

Carolina is obviously very good.
If Caps didn't play yesterday, I think they beat the Canes today! 4th game in 6 days...

Milano needs to be traded because he's useless with this team.

All in all not horrible. Except the PowerPlay. We got one but overall just poo. thought we might steal a point.
You put OV in bumper spot and have Chychrun/Carlson manning the points, then Caps PP would come a live! I love OV, but it's time to let up his regular position on the PP and allow the team to change some things around to get point shots from both sides.

Lindgren's .932 SV% in this game is very encouraging going forward. This was how good Lindgren was of last season.

Can’t be too upset. I feel like you have to win the games you’re supposed to win and then win some of the ones you aren’t. This wasn’t a game we were supposed to win. Bad situation to go into against a legit great team. Short handed and tired. Still were in the game.

Hope Orlov’s visor is okay, that stick tap seemed like it was very painful for it.

Agree on Milano. Would be great if we can move him and bring in a legit 3LW. I don’t think Jake is the answer either but he is a good 13F and brings something unique. Sonny played an important role last couple of years, but we’ve outgrown him.

I don’t want a 3C. Lapierre is going to be good. If he continues to struggle you have Sgarbossa and if things really go sideways and we feel better about moving McMichael and Protas around that works too.
I'm not giving up on HL. Some players take longer to develop than others. Look at CMM. His offense wasn't projected to be this good. I think it would be better for HL to play wing. It requires less responsibility. When he matures a bit, then you try him at the center position.

Good chance that Chychrun and Roy are back for next game as well.
I hope so, because the patch work D pairs is not even a short term solution.

Vrana's speed can be helpful at times, but he doesn't collect assists and do other things to keep him in the lineup all the time. He just scores goals, but at a much lower clip than OV.

Meh, decent fight but Canes can give a big fat assist to the schedule-makers for this one. Off 2 days before the game at home vs. team that's coming off of b2b and 3rd in 4 days. This was there for the taking with slightly better finishing but 2 pts was a good outcome for this weekend.

Refs have an agenda vs. Dubois. Puzzling that we now have 2 of those players on a same line (see: Wilson). They didn't call the trip on him behind the goal-line. They didn't call the hook on him after he dumped the puck in, and called him for that high-stick 5 seconds later which was obviously a fine call, but punching someone on the face afterwards should have been 2 for Orlov and you'd think it likely would have been if it was anyone else receiving it. That's the kind of thing coaches hate and describe as a dumb penalty. Just take the PP, don't go swinging at the guy after the whistle. Got away with it though even though Dubois worked his post-whistle shenigans well.

As for people wondering why Milano was in for this one, he had a hatty vs. Canes last season.
