To me “walked” means beating the defender cleanly to the outside or inside and ending up being 1v1 with the goalie where the defender is no longer relevant. i.e. walked around him almost as though he wasn’t there.

Sennecke, who I am a big fan of by the way, didn’t beat and leave his defender in the dust, he made a slick move to create some space from his defender and beat the goalie beautifully. He didn’t “walk” the defender, he managed to create enough space to get his shot off.
Thanks for clearing this up for us

Sennecke dominates Pinelli, Cowan and Barkey in his last two games

Making Team Canada brass look like the fools they are
Sennecke is 100% better than Pinelli and Barkey, haven’t watched much of Tanner Howe so don’t know much about him but I assume he is probably better than him too. That’s the obvious ones then guys like martone, rehkopf etc you can make an argument for.

No way in hell should he have been left off.

Also..

I said it before and I’ll say it again. Sennecke wasn’t the third best player AT THE DRAFT. But he probably has the third best upside. In the next year or two people will see just how good he is. He was never going to play this year in the nhl anyways so why not make a pick based off 2 years from now?

Anaheim got one hell of a player

Can someone who follows Canada closely explain why be was left off of their roster? On the surface it seems like a silly omission

I haven't been following the ins and outs of the WJC scene for a few years as closely as I used to, typically you see highly productive high picks make national teams

They have a grit obsessed GM who for reasons speculated wasn’t fired after the quarterfinal exit last year in which Canada was starved of offense, so said GM comes back and predictably leaves off the leading CHL goal scorer (Misa), the 3rd overall pick top 5 in the OHL in goals (Sennecke) and the hottest power forward in the OHL (Greentree) amongst other omissions

We need a superstar in the worst way, hopefully Sennecke is it.

Fine. He broke Dickinson's ankles with the move. That better?

Anyway. Well deserved to get retroactively added to the roster. He probably still won't make it but he forced Team Canada to give him a late invite or risk continuing to look very stupid.

I guess, but you’ll eventually be choosing from 19, so it seems like they’ve complicated their process, which they probably are doing because they realized they made a mistake.
It gives him a chance atleast. Like he can show up and make them consider him now. Or he doesn’t perform and they cut him. Just have to hope that they let the camp mean something and if he wins a spot let him win that spot.

It doesn’t complicate the process at all.

They wanted 18 forwards at camp, one of them wasn’t able to participate so they brought in another. They just need to cut 1 extra player now, doesn’t overcomplicate anything.

Exact same as with Brunnicke. They wanted 10 D, when he was unable to participate they brought another along.
