At best? I see a strong RHD #4. I don't think he's going to push into offensive roles at the NHL level but he's got the offensive game at the junior level that usually predicts more advanced league success. But I could be wrong, maybe he's better than that - again, this is a "at best" thought.

His game in his own zone is excellent at this level. He's safe, engages the man, makes smart decisions with the puck. That he has some extra jump in the offensive zone and productivity isn't where he fits long term IMO.

At worst? Welcome to the AHL or KHL.
All you can really ask for as a pick this late

Clague is 6ft and he is 6"3, is this really a good comp?
Is he not using his size?
He can be a meanie. Good in his own zone and enough offense to be noticeable. Not saying he's a future #1 but pretty good all around game. Good skating, offensive ability, plays physical and uses his stick and body well with a big frame. Lots of potential but still just potential at this point in his young career.

With a goal and 3 assists tonight, he takes the lead in the QMJHL defensemen scoring race. He has 8 goals and 35 assists in 38 games. 5 goals and 19 assists in 16 games since joining Drummondville.

I should've stuck it out, didn't make it past the Olympiques' second goal (Wold IIRC).

Last season I think he projected as a 6/7/8 guy. This year he’s been building on that.

A lot of that offense is going to slow down in the A though. As a comparison Psysk whom some people might use as his ceiling was 6-32-57 at D+2.

He’ll be a pro in NA particularly as a RHD. I don’t think his skating will let him play as aggressively as he moves up.

There’s also room for him to fill out. Although he’s already a big customer.

His point streak ends at 9 games, being held off the scoresheet tonight in a 4-0 win over Baie-Comeau.

His PPG since joining Drummondville is at 1.41.

As a comparison, former Q defensemen in their last junior season (they all played for top teams) :

Thomas Chabot 1.32
Lukas Cormier 1.31
Noah Dobson 1.29
Samuel Girard 1.25
Jordan Spence 1.25

These guys are all NHL players but Cormier who's still only 21 and played 2 games with Vegas so far.

Yes, plus/minus is not a great stat. And that said, Komarov has been a minus player twice since arriving with Drummondville and not since January 3rd. +37 in 26 games as a Volt...

Not a great stat but he could break the QMJHL record in career +/- before the end of the season so that would be a good achievement.

Sean Couturier has the record with a +141. Komarov is at +118 with 12 games left.
