You can't make this **** up anymore guys. My hands are up in the air.. I officially give up. We have some serious voodoo over this team.

Insane on the stuff we get each year. Absolutely insane.

What's your source have for us now lol.

Sadly... he/she did mention they were tested before. Hilarious that it came back up. Now I don't trust our medical staff at all. And Pittsburgh is freaking KNOWN for medicine!

I mean if you told a person in a coma that loved the NHL for years what injuries we have, they would think you are insane.

kikkerlaika - we all have friends who have sinus problems. It's common. How many do you know swell up like that?

Well, none. But googling the issue made me think it's as likely as anything else based on the pictures.

Plus, it was brought up here as something that happened to a member's SO regularly.

I don't like speculating on anything but could it possibly be swollen salivary glands?

Like I said before, looks exactly the same as mumps. Definitely could be a sinus issue, but with all the other mumps cases going around, you really have to lean towards it being mumps. He may just not know what the official diagnosis is yet.

Good news for us, half the pittsburgh media interviewed Sid today, maybe they'll get the mumps and we won't have to listen to their reporting for a bit :)

Damn your team is unlucky.

Consistently unlucky. Hockey gods knew this team would be unstoppable if we were left healthy and got our wingers we needed to be unstoppable, so they cursed us to this life of injuries and crazy health problems that can have a high risk of death.

"Hey doc, my leg hurts"

"What were you saying? Whatever, I have an arrangement with a dentist for that"

LOL.

Sadly, I am not even kidding about this. The kid, Aaron Hunt, was a huge talent, being the playmaker of the German Under21 NT at 17, and between 18 and 22 he hardly played 10 games straight. He was like the Beau Bennett of football. He is 28 now and has not had more than the odd sprain or flue since.

it's a very binary situation, you either have the mumps or you don't. I don't know what's going on, but I'm struggling to blame the doctors unless they are just being negligent

But what would be causing that?

Sinus, salivary glands, mumps, curse, wisdom teeth, tonsils, dental problems from fixing his mouth after his jaw got broken, other illness.

Maybe he has one of those twins that got absorbed in the womb.

With the whole mumps situation with the NHL, you'd think unless they absolutely definitely 100% know what else it is, they's err on the side of caution. Right? RIGHT?

Knowing how sid issues go. This 2 game absence will turn into 20

That is for sure mumps. I realize he has doctors and everything, but it has to be.

In regards to your comment though, his mump-cheek will probably flap around and give him a concussion. 20 games.

Why was Sid on the ice to begin with? Do you even need to be a doctor to figure out that something may be wrong when you show up looking like a blow-up baloonish version of Sidney Crosby?

I hear ya. It's quite baffling to what sort of injuries this team has to deal with.

To be fair, he had spent most of the past 3 days hanging out with #47. So I'm assuming the team assumed he had picked up some bad habits.
