I think there should be little doubt as to who the "best" is, because rinne was absolutely fantastic.
But, for those of us that were here from day 1 and sat through seasons of defenders that couldn't even complete a pass to their partner parallel to the blue line, understand that watching vokoun win hearts of virtually everyone in the building while playing on teams painfully devoid of talent meant so much to all of us. Seeing him hop like a schoolboy for his first shutout, or putting a shoulder into iginla in the corner, more than once if I remember correctly, he gave the predators something that was desperately in short supply those years, and he did it with grace and competence.
"Favorite"? No contest.
"Best"? Also no contest.
I agree that without the clots(?) we were on track to make some serious noise in the playoffs.
Was that the first time 2 teams with 50± wins met in the first round of the playoffs? Seems like I remember something like that.
