I don't get why so many people are convinced that Tim Murray is going to dump Kane for pennies. If that's what he wanted to do, he would have done it already...
Elliott Friedman just recently said that the Sabres/Vancouver deal fell through because Tim Murray was asking for too much for Kane.
And I think it was Bob McKenzie who said that Tim Murray was in no rush to trade Kane and was waiting to be "wowed" by an offer.
Local Buffalo media said that Murray wasn't even making trade calls on Kane, they were only taking calls and listening to what other GMs had to say.
But because people read about how Kane was involved in a couple off ice incidents, both of which he was cleared of (and one he was completely cleared of any wrong doing and never even charged with anything), they think the GM who was after Kane for years and just gave up a big huge pile of assets for him is going to give him away for peanuts barely a year after acquiring him...
Sabres fans need to chill with this "I'll take anything" for Kane crap too. He is not going to be given away in a trade that wouldn't do anything to make the Sabres a better team. The only way Kane gets traded is if it makes Buffalo a better team (and Tim Murray said as much). Otherwise, what's the point? Tim Murray is not at the point of "take anything you can get" for Kane.
There have clearly been offers for him and he is still a Sabre, so what does that tell you?
