Not at all. Brown is 1000X better the better leader/teammate. He's outplaying Kane currently and his contract isn't an issue with the youth that's coming up.

5 more years at $5.875m is definitely an issue.

Put me on the Brown over Kane bandwagon. But like i said, I would only Do Gaborik for Kane. **** situation for another. Off ice issues alway become a problem on the ice.

when you have top 6 coming that will be paid under 1 million it balances out :) (kempe amadio mersch) Oh fun fact brown actually playing on the 2nd pp with dowd and doing well at it

It's just hard for people to grapple with Brown > Kane at this point.

You also left out the nice D that are coming.

Will fix everything
So I'll bite. What's the cost for Reinhart?

What is Buffalo's biggest need? Which position, and as futures or roster pieces?

Buffalo has zero reason to trade Reinhart. Still 64 games left, 2 games under .500 without Eichel for the entire season so far.

Buffalo needs to stay around .500, get Eichel back (and O'Reilly...and Bogosian...and Kulikov) with 50-60 games left and make a push.

IF they make a trade, it'll be pieces not named Eichel/Reinhart/Risto to address issues that existed when they were heathy (which is for a puck moving LHD)

i was only dealing with the poster that said he was a 3rd line player. We have more defense coming then forwards I can legitimately see 4 or 5 making nhl We have tons coming I think (in no order) Paul Ladue Erik Cernak Alex Lintuniemi Jacob Moverare Damir Sharipzyanov and kale clague all legit chances of making nhl

lol i can remember people thinking i was crazy cause id rather have toffoli then kane ( before toffoli was in nhl) Looks like i called that one right

is the answer jesus

If this garbage is what is being offered, I'd imagine there'd be zero trade talks going on. The Sabres aren't taking on contracts that are complete anchors (Brown, Girardi, Staal just to get rid of a guy with a year and a half left on his deal. Somebody will offer something half-way decent because GM's fall in love with guys that have Kane's skillset and a year and half isn't a long-term commitment.

There's nothing wrong with the Sabres trading Reinhart. They just need to make a GOOD trade, getting something equally valuable in return. They've got ROR and Eichel, for god's sakes.

I don't get why so many people are convinced that Tim Murray is going to dump Kane for pennies. If that's what he wanted to do, he would have done it already...

Elliott Friedman just recently said that the Sabres/Vancouver deal fell through because Tim Murray was asking for too much for Kane.
And I think it was Bob McKenzie who said that Tim Murray was in no rush to trade Kane and was waiting to be "wowed" by an offer.
Local Buffalo media said that Murray wasn't even making trade calls on Kane, they were only taking calls and listening to what other GMs had to say.

But because people read about how Kane was involved in a couple off ice incidents, both of which he was cleared of (and one he was completely cleared of any wrong doing and never even charged with anything), they think the GM who was after Kane for years and just gave up a big huge pile of assets for him is going to give him away for peanuts barely a year after acquiring him...

Sabres fans need to chill with this "I'll take anything" for Kane crap too. He is not going to be given away in a trade that wouldn't do anything to make the Sabres a better team. The only way Kane gets traded is if it makes Buffalo a better team (and Tim Murray said as much). Otherwise, what's the point? Tim Murray is not at the point of "take anything you can get" for Kane.

There have clearly been offers for him and he is still a Sabre, so what does that tell you?
