Go with a 4th line of Blackwell-Rooney-Gauthier and move on from the outdated philosophy that you need talentless goons on your 4th line
Blackwell, Rooney and PDG are talentless goons?

He is saying the opposite.Blackwell, Rooney and PDG are talentless goons?

LOL he was saying the opposite. He was saying make your fourth line Blackwell, Rooney, and Gauthier, and move on from the idea that you need guys like Glass, Brash, etc. on the fourth line. He's specifically saying Blackwell, Rooney, and Gauthier are NOT talentless goons.kriederman has been on this site for a really long time. I'm surprised he would make such a foolish comment. Goons aren't really in hockey anymore and haven't been for a few years. Talentless goons are a non issue, tired of hearing people still whine about them.
I have posted about this. That's why Quinn gets so much shit (deservedly so at times) for riding the vetsI’m not sure if this article has been posted, but I was curious to get everyone’s thoughts.
My initial thought is this shows exactly how confused this organization is. A balancing act that of trying to win and while develop young talent is a problem a contender has.
We are still in a rebuild right?
Shouldn’t Priority one be develop young talent and win second? Winning should be a luxury at this stage in the rebuild focus one should be getting the young players experience ence right?
curious to others thoughts and opinions
Vitali Kravtsov complicates Rangers' tough balancing act

Ok. So drop Buchnevich and install Kravstov. Bench Lindgren and install Reuanen. Drop Panarin and move Lafreniere up
He is doing no different than any other coach would. If Mika and Strome were in LA, how much time do you think Dach would be getting?I have posted about this. That's why Quinn gets so much shit (deservedly so at times) for riding the vets
Orrrrr...Ok. So drop Buchnevich and install Kravstov. Bench Lindgren and install Reuanen. Drop Panarin and move Lafreniere up
There is no confusion within the organization.
I'm pretty sure Kravtsov is going to score a hat trick in his first game.Glad to see everyone learned from the last time and are tempering expectations this time around.
Hard time doing that in 8 minuets of ice timeI'm pretty sure Kravtsov is going to score a hat trick in his first game.

Orrrr.....when trying to keep in the race for the last 20 games, the line that was playing significantly better (the 4th line) is going to play with the one that struggled in their own end (the 3rd line)?Orrrrr...
Bench Smith and play Reunanen, or rotate them every now and then?
Play the third line more than the fourth line?
Use two PP units and keep Blackwell off the second one?
You see, there are nuanced ideas, and then the insistence on one extreme or the other that you tend to want to box people into.
Then do what I said.Look, your point is definitely legit.
But this is something I’ve been trying to talk about a long term, you can’t have it both ways. We are trying to build a contender. That is the goal. Management should be held accountable and evaluated in relation to that and no other goal.
So will Kravtsov snap if they ask him to play a few AHL games then come back
I think Smith has been good.Orrrr.....when trying to keep in the race for the last 20 games, the line that was playing significantly better (the 4th line) is going to play with the one that struggled in their own end (the 3rd line)?
Have you watched Hartford lately and seen what Tarmo has been doing? The answer is not really anything. Smith has played the roll of a #6 defenseman fairly well. JD, Gorton & Quinn are trying to make the playoffs. Sorry, that is the way it is.
Smith, for me, is a rollercoaster during a game. He makes some plays where he really stands out in a good way, and then he makes a play where you just want to pull your hair out. That probably describes most #6 defensemen in the league. I think he has been, overall, fine at the #6 slot, if you don't take his salary into account. The biggest thing in his favor is that he plays with an edge and is willing to throw down for his team.I think Smith has been good.
Brendan Smith? Good at what? He made a good pass to Bread for a breakaway goal. Otherwise, he is out of position all night; a true liability.I think Smith has been good.
Not sure what anyone else would want from a 6th defensemanI think Smith has been good.
I was going to say that only the willfully ignorant could find that many issues with the team's 6th defenseman. And well, there you have it.No—Neil.
