I'm gonna be so conflicted when he comes over and is fighting with KK for 2nd line minutes on Panarin's other wing.

Pretty sure that Buch is going to get traded as a cap space casualty.

Yeah, seems likely. Really don't wanna even think about that, he's turned into a fan favorite.

I don't even bother trying to do the maths because it makes my brain hurt, but we would have such a talented top 9 if we somehow made the numbers work. We'll see though, Buch over Mika long term is looking more and more acceptable if we're looking at value. Not sure Strome would look much worse than current Mika on that 1st line tbh. Who knows, we'll have to wait and see how they address the Center depth.

our top9 could be stacked next year. Our whole roster can be stacked next year.

Kreider Zibs Buchnevich
Panarin Strome Kakko/Kravtsov
Lafreniere Chytil Kakko/Kravtsov

Miller Trouba
Lindgren Fox
Robertson Lundkvist

it's a good time to be a Rangers fan.

There is a way, I think. But the conversation turns hideous pretty quickly. And you are hitting on it. What if they choose Bucnhnevich over ZBad or frankly any other targeted center? Can weakness at center be masked by wings that drive the play?

Panarin has 15 points in 10 games and Strome has 6 points in his last 6. Kreider and Buch have been producing on the first line. So much freaking hyperbole on these boards. The top two lines have been doing fine.

Kreider has produced on the PP and away from Zibanejad.

Buch's production has come primarily away from Zibanejad too (Z assisted on his first goal and then the ENG yesterday.)

The 2nd line is coming around, the 1st line (well, Zibanejad) and the 3rd line (Howden) are major problems right now at ES. Howden won't be in that role for much longer but if Zibanejad can't get going we're f***ed.

Get him over hereeee
I think he is developing quite well right now. I would not even think about bringing him over. Let him keep developing into his big frame. If it was mutual I would be ok with keeping him with Traktor next year as well. You can see the development taking shape I would not mess with it.

One game can change cumulative stats (and perspective) significantly. That's why I don't get folks getting up in arms over things that have had a life span at a start of the season less than a mosquito.

including this post. and the one I responded to referring to the Rangers as offensive monsters. Maybe on paper but we have a ways to go.
Panarin is doing fine. Not rocket science. Didn't think I had to mention him. Buch is doing fine too. also obvious but that's 2 of 6 players.
Zibs is not producing like the 1st line center he needs to be. Strome, sure - picking things up of late but I think the standings are telling. Kakko are Kreider have chipped in but they are far from producing at "offensive monster" levels. Neither at top line levels. If your post was like "on paper we'd have three potentially monstrous lines" I would not have batted an eye.

Maybe your post wasn't clear enough and you meant that we'd be monsters in the future but it sounded like a stated fact of our present circumstances but your response about current stats seems to indicate not.

I know that people like to claim that this kid scores a lot of non-NHL goals. That SO goal is a perfect example.

I’d just like to go on record again as saying those people are dead wrong. His ability to keep going back to the well with that 5 hole shot is nothing but encouraging. It shows that he has a very deceptive release, and pinpoint accuracy. Those two things are probably even harder to defend than the crazy dekes you see guys like Oshie and Kane pull off.

I remain very excited by this kids goal scoring ability.

So you are saying if Mika was hurt and recovering from COVID forever Strome would be on par with him. And Buchnevich is not nearly as valuable as Zibby a 1C.

Not trying to be a jerk, but I can't tell if this is a question. I do agree with this highly hypothetical scenario though, yes.

We both know Quinn will play scrubs over many of these young guys. And if he played them it would be 10 mins a night.
