Vitali Kravtsov ¯ _ ツ _ ¯

As I think is the case with a lot of Dhaliwal's posts about players, it comes from talking to the agent. And what I believe he was told, was that there have been no discussions between Kravtsov's agent and the Canucks on a contract.

But of course Kravtsov is still under contract to a KHL team, and maybe NHL GM's are reluctant to negotiate with someone who's still under contract to a team in another league. I think despite all the turmoil in Russia, the KHL and NHL still have an agreement in place regarding contract protection.

But I guess we'll soon find out. The KHL season comes to an end just about the time the NHL playoffs are starting up. And I think his two-year KHL contract is officially 'up' on April 30th.

Are you referring to Rick Dhaliwals comments over a month ago? It didn't sound all that definitive, he also sounded absolutely clueless about anything to do with the KHL. He remarked that he's not doing that well because "he's not even a point per game in the KHL". There are 3 players in the entire league who were a point per game this season, compared to nearly 40 in the NHL.
Dhaliwal is agentese for useful idiot.

Traktor trailing in Game 1 right now but Kravtsov goal! Continues being one of the best playoff performers in KHL history
Jovo: I love your optimism and loyalty to the kid…

…but as someone that doesn’t follow the KHL (and I never have), is he really one of the best playoff performers in KHL history (because I’m a little worried about how many guys must disappear in the playoffs up there if that’s true)?

In 6 playoff seasons (before this one):

6 games / 1 point
16 games / 11 points
4 games / 2 points
5 games / 4 points
15 games / 10 points
14 games / 5 points

Playoff totals: 60 games / 33 points

He ranks 27th in total points among players who played between the 13/14 season and the 23/24 season and is tied at 38th in PPG among players with 30 or more playoff games played in that span. In the last decade, he's shown himself to be a very good playoff performer by KHL standards.

r u suggesting honorable khl has problem with windows

I see J-Pat writing his piece in Canucks Army, rates Kravtsov's return to the Canucks at about 10 percent.

Harsh, considering that since the New Year, the Canucks have been one of the lowest scoring teams in the NHL. Seems to me they should be looking for scorers from any league.

But his return is basically being panned by Dhaliwal and now Paterson. So many Allvin will surprise us? Who saw him identifying and signing Kuzmenko back in the day?

I’m pretty sure the interest for Kuzmenko was reported pretty early into 2022.
