Good for him. The play that marked the beginning of the end of his NHL career-- crosschecked into the boards with the puck 40 feet away from him; no penalty called-- is still one of the gold standards of NHL referee incompetence.Josh f***in Leivo is destroying the KHL lmao
Currently leading the very coveted ex-Canuck KHL PPG race. Nic Petan, Linden Vey, Reid Boucher, and Vitali Kravtsov round out the top 5, with HM going to Sheldon Rempal.Josh f***in Leivo is destroying the KHL lmao
Tocchet has already written him off. He prefers a sea of PDGsAfter watching another game of guys like Blueger, Suter, Heinen etc. etc on the bottom six muffing passes and failing to generate anything offensively, I might be tempted to take another flyer on Kravtsov.
In mean when you're losing anyway, what have you got to lose? They could sign him to an affordable contract and still ship him out to Abbotsford if it all fell apart.
I was coming here to post the same. Quite the heater he's been on.2 goal game today
josh leivo was so clearly an NHL player lol, hope he gets a shot somewhere again
His KHL contract is up at the end of this season. What is his NHL status? Do the Canucks still retain his rights, and for how long?I was coming here to post the same. Quite the heater he's been on.
How bout now?Well, yes. That's the point. Shabanov is doing the sorts of things that will earn you an NHL contract as a skill player from the KHL. Kravtsov is not.
He's on quite the heater and is making himself an intriguing option to bring back for another shot.
I think the reason he left, was strictly about 'money'. He probably earned at least 10 times in the KHL, what he'd earn still playing on an ELC in the AHL.He's definitely lighting it up.
I've said before that I really doubt that he's coming back, and I still feel that way, and that's because of my sense of what Kravtsov himself is thinking. If he'd been imagining a possible NHL career, he would never have left; he'd have gone down the street to Abby with a determination to earn a call-up midseason. But he wasn't willing to bet on himself
He'd earn more in the NHL if he made it with some success. But he didn't think that would happen.I think the reason he left, was strictly about 'money'. He probably earned at least 10 times in the KHL, what he'd earn still playing on an ELC in the AHL.
I suspect he'll stay in Russia for the same reason. but not sure long the Canucks actually retain his rights. I believe if he re-signs in the KHL, he automatically becomes a UFA when his contract is done.
