Tire centre , some questions.

Hello everybody, couldn't really find a place to ask this question and i didn't really want to make an own thread about it but here i am. Sorry!

Anyway so i moved here to Ottawa last week and i am going to be here for some years probably. Now when i am here i want to go watch Ottawa senators live but when i checked where the canadian tire centre was located , which seem to be in the middle of nowhere  i got some questions.

What bus route can i take to get there ? atm i am living in Sandy hill so any bus that goes nearby or sorta me would be great. How long does it take to get there by bus? I see some food package in the deals when i checked the ticket prices online, how does that work, what kind of food do they serve?

How long before the game should you be there ?

If you guys could take the time to answer these questions i would be very happy!

Thanks in advance!! :)

http://www.octranspo.com/tps/jnot/startEN.oci use this. CTC is located under Arenas under Landmarks. It will tell you all you need to know ahead of your game.

Say you live in Sandy Hill? I hope you skate. There is a fabulous outdoor hockey rink free for anyone to use at Jules Morin Park just north of Rideau Street (google maps it). Come play with us sometime :)

There's dedicated buses for Sens games, they come to both Campus and Laurier stations depending upon what stop you're closer to.

Download the 'bus buddy' app for Ottawa on your smartphone (if you have one) and you'll never miss a bus again.

Food deals w/ tickets are either pizza or subs. I think tomorrow night is the pizza night where you get a slice of pizza and soft drink with your ticket. Other food is available ($$$$) egg rolls, poutine, burgers, subs, pizza, nachos etc. Standard arena food + a few restaurants.

Got a pair of tickets to the Washington Capitals game on Feb 5th. Section 316 Row K. Looking for $45/pair OBO. E-transfer or paypal and I can transfer the tickets to your email via Capital Tickets.

Took the bus to the game last night for the first time. Waited at Bronson and Albert at 6pm. After 5 CTC busses blew past us full, one driver was kind enough to inform the group of Sens fans that we were essentially out of luck....this was after waiting for about 50 minutes. We had to bus to Kanata Centrum and cab to the building and essentially missed the first period. Not sure if this is a Sens or OC transpo issue but likely won't be doing that ever again.

I understand the weather was a factor and OC was backed up, still felt it was a shame that unless you get on one of the very few 400 series buses your essentially SOL to get to a game without a car.

Not sure what happened here TBH. I rode past that stop if you mean (Albert and Bay) around 6:50. Our bus wasn't even close to full, driver was stopping at every stop and getting the sens fans that were still waiting.

There was lots of problems last night, including the weather and road closures on Albert. Don't let bussing on what I would say is the worst possible night ruin it for you.

Call OC and let them know. They won't be able to compensate you, but if they don't know that it's happening, they won't be able to tweak their service.

I'm actually looking to see if anyone has a decent pair of seats for the Edmonton game on Saturday they want to dump for a reasonable price?

For parking on Saturdays for games - is the Sensplex still a viable option?

I used to do it last year, but then I got a good deal on a parking pass.

Never got bugged last year, but I've noticed they started putting up signs saying you would be towed and ticketed if you weren't there for Sensplex use.

How they actually would enforce that I'm not too sure, I would think you would still be fine..

So show up early, walk inside quickly to see what it's like inside... and then head down to the CTC. Got it

 Yeah seems like that should work.

Some people like refs or arena workers would be there the length of a game anyhow so I doubt they really enforce this too much.

Are there any other alternatives? Just remembering doing this last time I drove up for a game but that was 2012.

I guess now with the Tanger outlets you could always park there, probably about the same amount of walking as from Sensplex.

Costco/Home Depot is another option, in the winter it's not as good as you can't cut across the fields, but it's not too bad of a walk (15 - 20 minutes)

Hey fellas, kind of last minute but I'm going to the game against the Habs on the 18th, and I'm looking to take a bus from Argyle Avenue, right by the Museum of nature to the CTC and back. Is there a shuttle bus that goes to the game and back in walking distance of that area?

Lieutenant's Pump does a shuttle for $10 per person. You can buy online.

Unless your a Habs fan ;)

Interesting appears a few changes from the Sens at CTC as per the STH email. Metal detector's being installed at all entrances and appears re-entry is being eliminated.

Smoker's and beer sneaker in's take notice!

Worst thing ever. Bell Center has had the same rules for last season. Though luck for smokers... Drink more beer, I guess?

Jeez, just ruining the game day experience for me :sarcasm:

Haha guess so, not a smoker myself and usually finish my pop by the time I get to the rink...will perturb a few folks but grand scheme of things no biggie. Guessing it is tied to an insurance issue...as most things seem to be these days.

So combine this with the arena being a two hour round trip via public transit for most people and the CTC has really elevated their game day experience.

Maybe if the Sens score in the final minute the ushers could kick everybody in the balls on the way out or something.....

This is ridiculous. I worked security at the games for a year and there were never issues with objects being brought in OR smokers.

Just stupid.
