The Last Bookstore was really cool. We went to a cafe called Urth Caffe and it had probably the stupidest menu in the history of food. I was miserable.
Amoeba was cool, didn't have any of the specific Brian Eno records i wanted though. I ended up just getting a Tyler the Creator LP.
Don't go to Urth Caffe.

Visiting LA. Where to watch NHL Playoffs?
Hey Guys,
I'm a Rangers fan (congrats on last year) and I'll be in LA this weekend. I'd like to watch the playoffs and was wondering if you could direct me to a good spot in LA to see the Rangers play the Penguins Thursday & Saturday afternoon/night.

RP does have a great point. It is hard to see hockey in a sports bar especially if the Dodgers or Basketball is on.
You might try Yankee Doodles in the 3rd Street promenade. Perhaps call first and see if they will put the game on for you?

Canucks fan here (I come in Peace)
I'm new to this beautiful city and really want to watch the Canucks game tonight with full audio. Every bar i'm calling is electing to play the Chicago game over the Canucks game...
Where are some good places to go that lots of Canadians go to and hence we could put on some pressure?
