OT: Visiting Chicago 2 - All Pizza, All the Time

Most hotels are easily accessible from the CTA. I buy my tickets on ticket exchange or stubhub. Whichever has the smaller fees

Thanks, got tickets in section 120 from stubhub. Booked at one of the hotels close to Magnificent mile.

Next question..Are any of the outdoor skating areas downtown usually frozen enough for skating in early Dec? and can we rent skates...I really don't want to pack and bring skates

All depends on this wonderful planet, and when she decides to cool down.

To give you an answer right now, if the weather continues to go as it is, there will be no outdoor ice to skate on, IMO. Normally there would be ice in early December, though. And yes, you can rent skates.

Navy Pier is closest to MM. Call the Peninsula Hotel if they still have the Sky Rink.

Another question...my son has a Crawford and a Lundqvist jersey he would like autographed is there a best time to try and get them?

I know this is a real long shot, but I am a student who will be in town for a career event on 12/9 and am looking for a way into the Hawks-Rangers game that night. Just looking for a single ticket and trying to beat stub hub prices because, I am broke haha.

I'm sure you wouldn't want another NYR fan in your barn, but it is worth a shot eh? Hopefully this is a fun home and home, will be nice to see a team that also likes to play up-tempo. Any leads please PM me. Thank you.

StubHub, VividSeats, or SeatGeek are probably your best bet, to be honest. You can maybe watch Craigslist or something along those lines to see if you can find a deal. Hawks tickets have actually been decently priced on some games lately, but that game is likely going to be pricey because it's Rangers vs. Hawks. You are gonna have a tough time spending less than $100 on a ticket, IMO.

Download the Gametime app and wait til day of. Lately there's been pairs doing for $25 each within an hour of game time. Probably won't go that low for that game, but if you're okay waiting till the last minute it's the way to do it.

Hey Hawks fans,

I'm a Blueshirt coming in peace. I will be in your city for work next week, and have a small itinerary set up since I planned for it in advance. I was hoping you could help me fill in the gaps, and answer some questions about the United Center.

Tues: Second City
Wed: Hamilton
Fri: NYR @ CHI

eats: I plan to stop at Al's Beef and Lou Malnati's. Any other local cuisine I should try? If I get a chance to schmooze a client, what's your favorite steakhouse?

For the UC, I'm hoping to get there when the door open and check out the arena. Anything in particular I should focus on? And I'd like to go down near the Rangers bench during warmups, is that allowed there? Thanks in advance!

There are a lot of great steakhouses. Chicago Cut, Gibsons, Smith & Wolensky's are some of my personal favorites, but there are a ton of good ones that you'll be happy with.

I personally like Greektown. It isn't far from the UC if you like Greek food but I know everyone isn't a fan. Greek Islands is one of my favorites.

Portillos isn't amazing or anything, but it's a Chicago staple in terms of fast food.

Yeah you should be able to go down by the ice for warmups. At least, they used to let you do that. I haven't done it this year.

I was able to. Thanks for all the suggestions; I had a great trip. Your arena is great, and I was in awe during the anthem. Kudos on having a great atmosphere during the whole game. Wish I could say the same about MSG every night.

You can't say that about here either

That was about as big a game you can have in mid-December, and it was tied the whole time. Would've have been like that if it was, for example, the blowout of Arizona 3 days prior.

Lou Malnati's wasn't the stuff for me. I've heard Pequods is the best pizza in town.

You heard right. Pequod's is essentially THE experience you want. A hole in the wall with the best pizza in town.

Anything by Stephanie Izard is an A+ in cuisine.

EDIT - Found it.

Three home games in Feb/March - STL - PIT - NYI, what will I be looking at roughly for a seat in the upper deck? Trying to price up a trip. Thanks

I live in Chicago but figured this might be the best place to ask. Where is section P56 at the United Center? I received tickets from a supplier at work for tomorrow night's game.

Hmmmm. P56? That's not standard seating. I'm assuming that's some sort of premium seating/box/suite seating. There is a penthouse suite numbered 56, which I'm assuming is what that means. It's the only thing I can think of.

I would expect premium pricing for the STL and PIT games, and not so much for the NYI. I'd expect easily $100+ per ticket for the first two games, and anywhere from $50-100 for the NYI game.
