Injury Report: Vilardi Injury - Out Week to Week

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

In the meantime, feel free to join our Discord Server

seemed like he was playing through something...maybe the slew foot was enough for them to say shut him down till playoffs?

So we are getting to deal with some adversity here before the playoffs. Injuries are part of it so time for some others to step up here.

Hopefully Gabe and Neil are ready for the playoffs but week to week with 11 games left will be interesting.

There is nothing on Lu's Twitter feed stating this, I don't think the Jets would tell Lu Vilardi is out for the playoffs even if he was
Agreed, the Jets would be super quiet about that. I would think that whoever we end up playing in the 1st round the Jets would want that team to think he might play.

I mean if it's a significant injury like a brebreak or separation then it doesn't take a rocket scientist to know that he won't be back for the start.

But yes the Jets will do what all teams do and be vague about it.

Hopefully this is a case of the Jets being cautious with a nagging injury and helping him hit the playoffs at 100%.

Plus, shutting him down for the rest of the year will ensure he doesn't hit the magic 30 goal number and save them some coin during this summer's contract talks. :sarcasm:

Makes me mad because Vilardi was showing his true potential this season.

I mean this is what I'd do in the meantime.

Connor-Scheifele-Ehlers
Perfetti-Namestnikov-Tanev
Niederreider-Lowry-Appleton
Iafallo-Kupari-Barron

Actually Vilardi has not been good lately ... especially the last 3 games and if you take away the Canucks stats only 5 shots on net in 7 games.
Maybe a minor injury or burnt out but the rest should do him good and hopefully he comes back 100% ready to light it up for the playoffs.

Certainly the most ice time he's seen in his pro career up until now. Both in GP and mins/game, so i wouldn't be surprised if him and his large frame are wearing down a bit.
