I don't. That loser isn't worth the risk to Quick's hands.
This. Smith can whine like a ***** all he wants, I'd prefer Quick just keeps on stopping pucks and winning games.

i undersrand the Shanahan explanation. I think there's just a difference between first and principal point of contact. I think the league is tryign to get rid of the principal. in this scenario, i think the head was the first point of contact, while the chest was principal. I still wouldn't have objected had Nolan got a suspension because, like i said, the head whipped violently and it sure looked bad. that and i dont think any hockey player should have to fight the effects of a concussion, so i hope Klesla gets better soon.
Thanks to whoever posted that hit. Couldn't find it anywhere else.
I don't think this was suspension-worthy hit at all but one thing is pretty clear from this type of situation, and that is the NHL needs to set up standard camera positions in each arena, so they can look at each hit from at least two angles. Part of the problem with these rulings is, it's a lot easier to see what's going on when the player making the hit, does not have his back to the camera.
Part of the reason the league is so inconsistent is they try to make the same judgements from random camera angles, and that's hard to do. What might look legal (or lethal) from one angle, might give a completely different impression from another angle. You need at least one angle where the player in question does not have his back turned to the camera, to be sure.

I have not seen the event, but Sutter blames a rookie ref and says that there should have been no calls on the play. Funny thing is Biz's first game will be against LA.I don't know...I'm thinking you're seeing it with your heart and not with your eyes. To me and everyone else on here, it's clearly a clean hit.
On a side note, I'm glad Bissonette got a 10 games suspension, but shouldn't Tippet also be fined? I'm pretty certain that Biss was tapped on the shoulder by Tippet to get on the ice.
He'll be scratched for that one as usual.I have not seen the event, but Sutter blames a rookie ref and says that there should have been no calls on the play. Funny thing is Biz's first game will be against LA.

He did look like he left his feet, and was late, too me the contact to the head was shoulder. If Jordan Nolan got nothing, than Biz should have got the same. But It didnt work out that way so be it.
Off the bench is an automatic ten games
Do people here really care? I hope Kesla is o.k. but beyond that if Nolan gets suspended for 5 games or 50 he is as replaceable as a razor.
I love how people think that Nolan sucks. He's a good puck handler who can hit. How often do you find guys like that? I have no idea why he's in Sutter's dog house, but there must be some reason. It's probably to make room for Toffoli, but Nolan is the real deal. Guy will be a great 3rd liner someday, maybe a tweener 2nd liner.

Dumb penalties. He was taking stupid penalties last year and I remember it costing the Kings more then once. Maybe he can get past the penalties this year. He does seem motivated at this point.
