So how is Cyberpunk 2077 on the PC for anyone that has played it?

Btw upgrading my main gaming monitor to a 48" LG Oled C1 this weekend.
I only played a bit of it before going to other things, just to see how it performed on my system after all the talk of it being unplayable and buggy. I can't speak to how fun the game is, as a result.

While I still mean to go back to it, I have to say it ran fine on day one on my rig, a 9700K and RTX 2080 Super. If I recall correctly, you picked up a pre-built with a 3080 or 3090? I can't imagine you will have issues, though I have not tried it in 4K resolutions. The issues seemed to be confined to people with GTX 1070s, GTX 1060s... that range of GPU.

Technically, it is one of the best games to showcase ray tracing, so the beefier your card, the better.

Still waiting to put a new graphics card into my new rig, a Ryzen 5800X system. I may grab a 3080Ti in the near term, or a 4080 if I feel like waiting for its expected release next fall.

My 2080 Super is still a really good performer with today's games at 1440p 165Hz, with ray tracing enabled.

I ran Cyberpunk on a 2060m, and it was fine once I turned off RT. I usually got 50-60 fps, dropping to 30 in dense parts of the city.

If you can get past the bugs (many of which have been patched out) it's a pretty good game.

Cyberpunk2077 ran well enough on my 1070, but I didn't get that far in the game since I coincidentally bricked my SSD it was installed on a few days in. It was mostly glitches that were noticeable at the time, but the game itself ran fine.

Thanks, guys, for the feedback. Still mainly involved in Eve Online one of my characters has been in the huge war going on in the game but now the side I'm on (more like a large alliance of groups) strategically retreating out of the staging system we used for attacks. Kinda has a crazed fall of siagon feel with major fleet moves ops happening all weekend, heh.

Just remember in Returnal. Never give up! Never surrender!

It’s fantastic so far! Great challenge but it’s very fair. Never feel like any death is cheap. And every time I progress it’s rewarding.

It looks, feels, and sounds great.

The major distributors like Amazon and Newegg regularly have stock of leading nVidia and AMD graphics cards now. None of them are yet available for MSRP, so there is still a demand-eclipsing-supply problem, but it's a lot better than it was some months back.

I'm holding out for cards to continue dropping to closer to MSRP, I think. If you're really jonesing and you don't have a good card already though, you can start finding 3080 TIs for MSRP + $500 or $600 now. That card is already a bit of a rip off, of course, and YMMV as to whether it's now in your wheelhouse or still unacceptable. I haven't seen many 3080s available for decent prices yet, and that's probably the one I would want for something close to its $700 MSRP.

If you don't much care for ray tracing, AMD Radeon 6000 series cards are even more readily available right now.

Just finished Returnal (including the bonus ending).

I am floored with how good this game is. Everything from the gameplay/combat, visuals, music, and overall atmosphere were top-notch. I get why people might be a little intimidated by the main elements of the gameplay (randomized maps, some difficult fights, dying sending you back to the very beginning of the game) but once the gameplay starts clicking the challenges are far more manageable.

I’m going to have to replay it again to try to fully absorb more of the story. There’s quite a bit going on that I’m sure I missed on my first playthrough.

I loved Returnal. Was really my first entry into rogue-like games. I dabbled here and there in them for a few minutes, but never was serious until Returnal.

Right now I've been playing Hades since it was released to PS and Xbox consoles over the weekend. Another great rogue-like and was 2020 Game of the Year. If you enjoyed Returnal and are done with it, you should try Hades. It's on all consoles now (PS4/PS5/XB1/XSX/Switch/PC). And it is also only $25.

It is a little more forgiving than Returnal in that you keep a lot of the stuff even after you die, and so it can all add up over many runs. And you can save mid game.

It's still pretty hard. But at least you can save!

Yeah I've been meaning to get around to Hades and now that it's out on PS5 I have no reason to put it off any more.

That's the same reason I put it off

Waited for the PS5 version. It's story is actually pretty big for a rogue-like. I've done many many runs already and I feel like I've only scratched the surface on the story.

And the replayability is off the charts. There are 6 weapons to choose from at the start of each run. Each weapon basically acts as a character class. And then the further you get the more things open up. You get parameters that you have to set increasing difficulty each time. All to unlock more stuff which then opens up other stuff. It's all pretty addicting.

I think people who don't even like Dark Souls games or super hard games would enjoy this one.

I’m hoping they have a beta so I can test drive it first. I really like the World of Chel but the constant forcing of cross-crease passes and stick checks leading to a penalty 90% of the time ruin pretty much every other game mode for me.
They do have a beta. They had signups a few days ago. I think you can still sign up.

So finally took ownership of an the LG oled tv I'm going to use as a gaming monitor. First attempt ended up with 4 shipping delays and after the 4th received message that it was damaged and I was given a refund. Re-ordered again and got another delay with today the day. Also being required to have a person home I was surprised to see notice of delivery and receipt by the resident with no box in sight. After using the amazon chat service and shipping feedback it finally showed up an hour later, sheesh.

There is no reason that this can't be released on PC (now that the Xbox GamePass for PC has Madden and FIFA). So, once again, no sale until I can play it the way God intended us to play video games... on PC!

Does NHL come on EA Play? You would think that it would at least come on that.

I liked NHL 21 except for two big problems.

First, they mapped speed burst to L3, and hitting that all game hurts my hand. Controlls aren't remapable.

Second, they nerfed basically every goal except the cross-crease pass, which made the whole game super repetitive.

I thought the gameplay was okay, I liked the new loose puck chips and stuff, but the offline game modes had such visible cracks in the presentation that I played the game less than ever.
