OT: Video Game Thread Part VIII

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

In the meantime, feel free to join our Discord Server
Anyone play Enshrouded or V Rising?
I liked the idea of enshrouded but didn’t stick with it for some reason.
I got thru the tutorial in V rising and just didn’t go back to it.
I tend to do these things a lot.
I just restarted Palworld. We’ll see how long I stick with it this time.

I’ve heard nothing but good things about this game

One of the most fun games I’ve played in recent years. Insanely creative in setting and gameplay. It’s about 13 hours, and it never once feels repetitive. Two well written characters, equally funny and heartfelt.

Only one person needs to buy it — you can give your friend a free game pass. It’s completely split screen, so you can play locally too.

Oh hell yes. Cost-effective. Sweet.

Nice to hear the gameplay is really creative. Those kinds of games are my jam.

Have any of you played those Assassins Creed games.

The new one comes out and Xbox is promoting the heck out of it.

I never played any of them, which is weird because stealth rpg games are my thing- Hitman etc

Wonder if there’s a deal for the new game sometimes they bundle all the old ones dirt cheap.

i have played probably all of them save Mirage...none of them have been as good as the Ezio Trilogy...the last one i actually liked and played through was Syndicate...the super huge open-world ones(Valhalla, origins, Odyssey) are just too bloated

I’ve never beaten any and maybe have only played the first two and then the pirate one.
For me they are really fun for a few hours of gameplay and then the gameplay loop is too repetitive.

Agree with @trostol and @Lord Defect

The earlier ones were not RPGs in the sense of leveling up - they were stealth-based narratives. They gradually moved away from that over the years. Apparently the latest is a return to the stealth-based play of earlier titles with the more recent focus on RPG.

If you're interested in a fantastic stealth-based series, try Dishonored 1 and 2 if you haven't already.

Is dune a legit MMO or is it more like Conan/Ark/Insert any other multiplayer survival game?
Started off MMO but more Conan Survival. Has a mesh type servers where 9 servers could “play together”. I’m not a big survival game guy but there seems to be in place a lot of PVE stuff with PVP stuff in specific places. I’m too old for the pvp life so building some cool houses and shit intending world is up my alley.

Just watched a video on a recent dev release that was done. Sounds like it’s Conan exiles 2.0 evolved into an MMO.
I played the hell out of Conan, offline, so I’m sure I’m going to get this too.
