OT: Video Game Thread Part VIII

I'm usually a hoarder but realized coins are pretty much worthless with how the market fluctuates and are only good for for filling in SBC gaps and the occasional store pack every few promos. I get bored of using the same players over-and-over. I've been using my current team for about two weeks now.

I def get FOMO though when it comes to SBC players (I also rarely submit them into future SBCs lol). Like that Jonathan David. Can I get him on full chem? Absolutely not. Will I do it and use him as a super-sub only? 99.9% chance.

Makes sense. And that’s better than how my dumb ass always ends every game with stupid amounts of fodder I saved but will never use.


Speaking of saving for SBCs, I was going to do the Icon but holy crap I don’t think I can.

87, 86, 86, and 85 squads? I’ll have nothing left, just to get someone who probably isn’t usable. Been waiting for this SBC too…

Yeah I can never stomach Icon packs this early. Seems like a 50/50 chance of getting a usable card based on what I've seen, but I would probably cut it off if I got an 86 Veron.

I think I did like 3 icon packs last year. Just much more interested in guaranteed players.

I did every single icon sbc once the lvl cap was removed and I think I got Mia Hamm in my first or second one. Also got some awful players but at that point I had tons of fodder so it wasn’t as painful as this would be.

Think that's the way to go. You either have to do all of them or none of them.

I got Ribery in my second one when he was coming in at close to a mill. That was pretty useful. Hierro and Rush were my others. :yuck:

I loved Koeman's Centurion card last year. I used him in the midfield a lot though when you could swap positions mid game. His shooting is wasted at CB. Good at free kicks though. He's probably not better than Saliba or Varane though unless you want to play a 5 back and use him as a ball playing defender or something.

I spent about 3 hours tonight trying to get ten wins in the Cup. Playing Golden goal doesn't reset your form so it's like playing the Elite division all night. Not sure if it was because I was using 83 and 84 rated gold cards but the gameplay was absolutely tragic. Skill moves not registering. Player's not moving. Passes going all over the place. All for one unusable 87 walkout.

PS did you get a new PSN tag?

Tried different player roles, tried balanced, short passing, counter, different depth levels. Nothing seems to change it and it's infuriating me too

I have roughly the same instructions except I have Griezmann on False 9/Build Up at the right striker spot. My advanced forward is offside like 80% of the time if I play it to my midfielders.

Mine are offside every play. I watch them standing offside while I don't have possession on the minimap sometimes and then try to rush back onside when I get the ball back and they're going to be my lane out.

I was kind of hoping it was tied to being on attack since I assumed that's what makes them not track back fast. That's unfortunate. I've even had attacking wingback go offside! I've won headers with my CBs who play it forward to my attackers who were offside when the ball was headed. Makes no sense.

I had lots of offsides last year because I'm a bot, but I've heard pros complain about it this year and here I am going offside every other possession.

My go to play last year was playing it between my two CMs if there was no attacking lane and waiting for my opp to pull one of his defenders out of the lane and driven pass into the striker for a good look at goal. Striker almost always goes offside if he doesn't get it on the first opportunity this year.

Yeah, because I want them to return to their spot after I push forward using them. Works pretty well and I still have more than enough offensive players.

And I tired putting a striker on something other than advanced, but then the dipshit would randomly end up waaaaaay back by the CBs and it pissed me off.

I wasted time finishing Rivals wins last night and still any get a single promo card. I swear they’re 10x more rare than any promo last year.

I got Cech out of the icon today, so that solves the goalie situation for me moving forward I guess. Hopefully it plays well.
