OT: Video Game Thread Part VII

  • Xenforo Cloud will be upgrading us to version 2.3.5 on March 3rd at 12 AM GMT. This version has increased stability and fixes several bugs. We expect downtime for the duration of the update. I need a ruling on no man’s sky. Is it any good? I remember hearing when it launched it was abysmal and the co op had no guarantee that you could actually link up with who you wanted to play with.

I’m looking for something in the vein of a co op but not multiplayer, current graphics, survival, shooter emphasized game.
A buddy of mine is in a rough patch and could use a distraction but he doesn’t like playing online against other people because he’s a dork. Bonus points if he can play with the PlayStations game sharing thing while I’m on it as well if I buy it.

An hour long video? I appreciate the help but I don’t need the history just the current state. Skimming through a few minutes and he’s still talking about joe danger 2.

OK, quick summary.

Made huge promises
Massively underdelivered
Got roasted by entire gaming community
Went quiet for months
Came back with update after update after update
Still updating game and has now overdelivered on original promises

But it is a very entertaining video

Thanks. I’m not a fan of videos, especially when 50 words can sum it up.
 
Got my 100th Warzone win so now I can retire this game and move on to MWII and Warzone 2.

That's a pretty high K/D for an Xbox player. Even the better guys on my friend's list were 1.3-1.4. I think I was at 1.35 for Verdansk.

I'm not sure if this is a compliment or insult but thank you either way. :laugh:

In the last week or so since I started playing again I have 322 kills and a K/D of 2.32. Exclusively playing solos.

I'm pretty sure I read that the average K/D is something like 0.90, so anyone above that is doing pretty well, apparently. A 1.35 is top 10% worldwide, so that's very good.

I'm sure PC is easier because of far higher frames, custom FOV, and all that stuff - and I do have a new gaming PC so there's nothing stopping me from playing there - but I've been playing CoD on console since I was like 14 and I'm just used to playing on a 30+ inch TV instead of a monitor (which is obviously also a disadvantage). Plus, a reclining leather armchair is more comfortable than a desk chair... sooo.... oh well.

It's a compliment. :laugh:

You should just play on PC though, with your same controller. If you're doing that on a f***ing console with a TV, you will blow well past that on a monitor on a PC. Time to make the switch, bub.

:laugh: Gotcha. I didn’t know if the “That's a pretty high K/D” or “for an Xbox player” was the part being emphasized. You know, like “That’s a pretty big word for someone like you”. I can never be too sure on here.

And ughhhhhh, please don’t tempt me. I already considered it back when I upgraded my setup but I ultimately decided against it. I don’t need to spend any more time in front of a PC. :laugh:
