Seeing the Sabres roster Olofsson will only drop in value since he no-one will be able to pass him. What is he worth?

Kaut and JTC
keep it. Send your first and call it a day. It'll be 25 or after anyways
Cause stripping away all of our talent to the bone went so well last time for the Sabres........

Baffling how many people are eager to trade away a good young player for a handful of air with a dream inside it
By gawd, a 28 year old on a team trying to compete???He's 26. He'll be 28/29 by the time the team should ideally be competing. You would need to give him a contract into his 30s in order to keep him around. That would be a classic Sabres thing to do. Especially for a guy that isn't good 5v5.
Smart move would be trading him at the deadline to a playoff team in need of PP help. I could see him fetching a 1st from a contender.

Signing a 28/29 year old winger who isn't a star long term is a great move.
Check out Matt Moulson, Kyle Okposo, Jeff Skinner,
Let's keep the tradition going shall we
Let's worry about that when they get there. It's pretty far away at this moment.
He's a RFA with arbitration next year. A decision will have to be made soon. Long term deal or ship him out. Hopefully Adams makes the smart move and trades him for a high pick at the deadline instead of committing long term to a PP specialist.

Edit: Of similar conversation points of "oh, he'll be too old by the time they are contending" used to carry water for the shit that was the O'Reilly trade. It cuts both ways - they haven't even gotten to a point where they are talking about something for him, nor is there an indication that they are going to pay him a dumptruck full of money. So in the meantime, a player who can score some goals on the roster is actually better than a lottery ticket draft pick.
Buffalo should just hang on to him unless he wants out or someone offers the Sabres something they can't refuse.
No, I'm comparing the "he won't be at his peak when they are competitive" bullshit commentary that seems to be driving your argument. Are you seriously trying to compare ROR to Olofsson? One was a top two way center signed long term. The other is a PP specialist winger who struggles 5v5.
The most important thing is the future of this team. Decisions should be made with that in mind. I wish the previous GMs sure did.
