The size of Mete is not a problem, we have big guys like Weber to take care of the rough side, if he can be a Steve Duchesne or a Phil Housley which are about the same size has Mete , I would be very very happy, His offensive skills and speed are very good, lots of potential there.

Mete's upside is limited because of his size and shot. The latter would have to improve drastically for him to be an impact player, which is unlikely. He's agressive without the puck, and conservative with it. He clearly has the hands and speed to carry it, but it seems like it's been ingrained in him that the short safe pass is always the right play. Impact defensemen push the play forward so he's always going to be a role player unless he turns it up a notch, which i think is unlikely with Julien as his coach.

He's 19. Let's let him develop. I don't think he's reached a shadow of his potential. Erik Karlsson isn't only good because of his shot. Let's let Mete develop. I like his wrist shots from the point and that he already creates off the rush and looks to jump into the play. As he puts on muscle, including leg muscle, he's only going to get faster and better able to fend off the opposition and better make his way to the net. I see him in the future as a game in and game out threat to catch the opposition by surprise and create a lot of odd man rushes. Let's be patient.

MB and his soldiers need to leave town. We need massive changes to this team's management.

The kid is 19 and a 4th round pick keep your expectations in check. He isn't an elite top 10 first round can't miss draft pick! He isn't going to come out and dominate his first season.

Sometimes less is more. I think expecting a kid to be a top pair Dman on a team that is under pressure to crawl out of a 1-6-1 hole is too much to put on his shoulders. He can probably learn a lot more playing against 3rd/4th liners then trying to go against 1st liners and being beaten all the time.

Not surprising on HF where every rookie should be thrust into top positions and given every thing on a silver platter and the learning process is thrown out the window.

I see him as a future Jared Spurgeon. He's very good on the PP with his vision and poise... I get why they don't play him there more though.

It's too late for Mete to go back to Junior, no? At this point I would like him to go to the world juniors to get more ice time.

But, I still think he can have a good season in the NHL this year. He needs to pick up some of the finer points of the NHL. But he makes a lot of good plays.

He would have a lot more points if he were on the powerplay. I hate it when he's not on the second unit.

My second unit would be:

Plekanec Gallagher Galchenyuk
Mete Hudon

Plekanec may be done offensively 5 0n 5, but he's still good on the half wall. Mete is really good at seeing the ice. I bet he could pick out Galchenyuk cross ice for one timers as Markov used to do.

He can be sent back still. Basically, since he’s played more than 10 games, he’s burned his first year of his 3-year entry contract. However, if he plays 40 games, he burns a year closer to UFA. This is typically the number GMs really care about. If Mete is still playing less than 10 minutes a night and has unimpressive statistical numbers by the 39 game mark, I think it may better for the team and Mete himself to send him back.

If the Habs get Schemko and Juulsen back healthy by end of this month I can see the Habs loaning Mete to the World Junior team.

True but they might keep him for depth purposes. Our defense is weak, as it is.

It will be interesting to see how Joe Morrow, Schlemko, and Juulsen play. I like Morrow's potential. The key for Morrow will be his decision making. He has a lot of physical tools. The speed and skating, size, and a good shot.

Imo, Davidson is a career 7th dman. He has some solid aspects to his game. But he can't stick handle. That seriously limits his game.

Why do us Hab fans want to trade a 19 year old kid in his first year? this is ridiculous. I like this kid, he's fast skates well and is smart with the puck. People just look at his size and then judge him. Keep in mind that the NHL is moving toward smaller players and fast skating defensemen. Puck moving D are harder to get. Gone now are the days of Kevin Hatcher, Darian Hatcher, David Fischer, Jarrod Tinordi, Hal Gill etc.

There's no reason to send him back, he's miles better than any of the bottom pairing guys we have now, and at no point in time has he ever looked out of place in the NHL. I'm still baffled at why the team decided to reduce his minutes and I'm appalled at the use of him on the FKNG 4th LINE!

Who's idiotic decision was it to do that? Why not play 7 D and double shift a guy like drouin on the 4th line? What's wrong with this organization and playing their best hockey players the most?

He's 19 years old. I know he's done real well. But some of those last games he played a lot of minutes, he struggled. He was playing less to make plays and more not to make mistakes. So it's normal for a young player his age to be played less.

As for the 4th line, he really didn't look out of place. He's actually played there in Junior with London so he was not put in a spot he had zero idea about. In fact, he was the best player on his line.

I am okay with him being sent back down. It won't hurt him. I think when Schlemko gets back and Jerabek gets a call up, there is no room for Mete or for either Morrow/Davidson.

There are very few impact defensemen at 19. And the ebbs and flows are normal in the jump from junior to pro. I think Schlemko will fit in with Weber, creating a veteran top 4. But there is still room for Mete.

The fact Bergevin told him he is staying makes me believe it.

On a sheltered 3rd pair with Benn, you can keep him away from matching against the best on the ice.

I think Jerabek's recall should probably come at Davidson's expense, as Morrow is Julien's guy from Boston. Opens room for more movement within the organization.

It will be interesting to see if he is loaned to the junior team. It would be a great experience, and a strong performance would boost his confidence.

For the good of Mete, he should be sent back to OHL.

Jerebek and Schlemko should be on LD with Alzner.

I don't care about Davidson or Morrow. #7-#8 type ef d-men.

But I still would like MB to get a top-4 d-man in a trade.

Mete's not better than most of our dmen. He certainly brings a different aspect to our game which is why he was used a lot in the first few games but the results didn't come, and he's lost in his own zone so it was logical to demote him.

if mete sent back to London he would defiantly turn the knights into a contender with the rumors of Brady Tkachuk coming after WJC could be a long playoff run and hopefully a mem cup appearance again

I said in the Jerabek thread, I could certainly see the Habs not wanting Mete to get to the 41 game mark. He's already at 22, so we'll see if he plays 19 more games or not.
