Prospect Info: Victor Mancini (159th overall 2022 by NYR)

i'm not interested in shitting all over a prospect i know next to nothing about but i don't know why the canucks would ask for fortescue over him or why the rangers wouldn't give up fortescue but would give up mancini if mancini is such a good prospect. fortescue is a guy who'll play 4 years in college and then maybe get an ahl contract

Yeah, seems worth pointing out that his defensive numbers with the Rangers this year are horrific.

Amongst defenders with at least 150 minutes at even strength, he’s got the worst SCA/60 rate, and the second worst xGA/60, in the league. Can see why the team likes his tools but based on his results so far he is definitely a project.

He's in his first full year as a pro, so I don't think anyone should expect him to be a full time NHLer. He's got 3 years in NCAA. He only has 30 AHL and 15 NHL games so far as a pro. Should keep him in the A for the rest of the season really.

Oh yeah, wasn’t intended to be a slight on him. Just don’t think we should expect he will be an NHLer this year or even to start next season.

Not going to take long before everyone else is on board with what NYR fans, reputable intelligent hockey lifers, and now executives/scouts are indicating.

Looked impressive in the nhl this year, in the half dozen games I saw, Just not quite ready for the big show, but he's got all the tools to succeed and the toolbox, classic late bloomer dev curve.

It seems like he has tools that have impressed people but the question would be whether he can put them together to be an actual effective NHL defender. What is his IQ like, etc.

This guy is a Punisher........you watch his hits and they are done with some nasty intent. He's a guy that you pray can play cus come playoffs he's gonna be a hammer..........and in a 7 game series he has the kind of hitting ability to knock guys out of a series........

For what it's worth there's been some reporting that Drew Fortescue was the Canucks first choice. Wonder if Mancini was a distant second choice or fairly interchangeable (with how week our right side depth is this might be a blessing).

When you look at the AHL highlights of him rushing the puck and joining the play and then look at his NCAA statistics, you'd think you were looking at two totally different players. So strange.
