Look at McCrimmon getting *&^% done.
And good for Thompson. He's one of those kids who starts in the E and works his way into a couple of major league contracts.

This is surprising because he could have been a UFA after this year. Got to think he was given some assurance he'll be in the NHL next year.

The guy is about to break into the big league, signing 3 years at that price is definitely not betting on himself.. But hey, as long as he's happy.

The last 2 years are one-way, so he'll be guaranteed $775k no matter where he plays. Gotta imagine that holds value to a guy who really had to claw his way up the ladder
He'll be just 25 next month, so he's still plenty young for a goalie and could set himself up quite nicely for a payday down the road. Goalies are voodoo but seems like he could have a bright future

I think they like what they've seen from Thompson, Ferguson & Patera thus far. This seems like a precursor to moving Brossoit & maybe going with 3 goalies next season.
