Who cares about Methot. May you rot in Dallas. A player who says they don't want to play in Canada can go to hell.
Is everything ok

Vegas GM is so terrible you have to wonder if he is being influenced somehow. Did the other GM's manipulate him, making him believe there would be a big market for defenceman during the expansion draft negotiations? Was he bullied in private to take bad players or face being blacklisted in terms of future trades with other teams? Was he bribed(I don't believe so but it crossed my mind)?
I just don't get why he picked so bad, when he could have easily got playoff conteder from year 1, at least with few good UFA signings. And if it didn't go well enough he could flip assets at trade deadline for good picks.
Marchessault-Shipachyov-UFA(Radulov/Vanek/Marleu/Jagr/Sharp/Williams/Gusev/Dadanov)
Perron-Nelson-Neal
Weal-Eakin-Anderson

Methot-Vatanen
Alzner(UFA)-Dumba
Schimdt-Miller

Fleury

You can thank you media outlets for that
These players were not available. They may have seemed available, but they were unprotected solely because GM made deals with those teams. If he didn't, those teams would have traded around as necessary to keep their squads in tact. Also Tierney was protected. Weal is a UFA.
I get that he made deals, but to say those players would have been traded might have just been a bluff and even if it happened that would have left other good assets available. Yeah I made couple mistakes there(I took that lineup from some notes I made before the expansion draft), but point still stands.
I understand what he's trying to do as well -- at least I think I do. But what about keeping Methot and trading him at the deadline? Guys like him often get 1st rounders from desperate playoff teams. Unless he thinks the market will dry up or that playing on such a brutal team will diminish his value.
What a fail by OTT:facepalm
No, no. I said Karlsson.

So wait...what? McPhee didnt take the best possible offer from Ottawa because it wasnt his initial asking price?
These GMs are stuck in the past
I think Ottawa is in Canada isn't it?
I checked with the guy that ruled Duchene onside and he said it wasn't.
