I don't see a guy as a center just because he takes some faceoffs.

nobody would call Zach Hyman a center but he took faceoffs on the PK when he was here.

As for Woll he better have the game of his life because it feels like half the roster is out.

Understand this isn't an argument.... Marner will either be used as a C tonight, or he won't be.... it isn't because he is about to be switched to C, but because three of our C options are injured.. so perhaps it's a necessity... and really, it doesn't matter what you, or I think... it's either going to happen, or not.

It doesn't matter whether it's Woll, or Stolarz... the goalie tonight might have to steal one... and we've seen that both are capable of that when they are on their games... though Woll isn't quite back to his best yet... but let's hope tonight Woll at his best is finally revealed this year.

I don't think either one has truly had to steal a game this year, I did think Stolarz was going to have to against Edmonton but that wasn't the case.

Tonight? I think you might be right.

Woll and the PP might have to steal this one.

Oh boy that's looking rough.

Hopefully they can gut this one out.

Minten 2C by default tonight?

I think the C's were in order... Holmberg will be the 2C... ouch.

So

McMann Tavares Marner
Knies Holmberg Nylander
Robertson Minten Greb
Dewar Lorentz Steeves

I think there is a legitimate case to be made that Minten is a better player then Holmberg right now.

With so many guys out I'm starting to wonder if we see a move in short order here.

Because this is starting to remind me of when Dubas acquired Timmins because their #9 D man was playing regular minutes.

We are starting to get to that point with the forwards here.

Treliving might have to make a move just to bring in a body

The lack of production from Holmberg and especially Robertson used to be concerning, now it's just pissing me off.

I don't have the solution (press box, benching, etc) but with a healthy roster I'd have no issue with trading both guys for picks and sticking with Minten and Grebenkin moving forward.

Robertson especially, the guy demanded a trade and after a promising pre-season has 1 goal and 0 assists in 16 games ffs. That's pretty brutal for a defensive defenseman, and beyond pathetic for a "skilled forward".

We'll be lucky to get a pack of tim hortons collectible trading cards for him in a trade at this rate

Too many injuries but we get to see some promising kids which helps with the excitement. Maybe they go an all kids 3rd line?

Minten, Greb, Steeves is the Marlies top line. I wonder if they'll play them together.

Leafs management is clearly reading the boards.
I asked in the Marlies thread why the our 3rd line was playing in the AHL.

The next little while hinges on the dcore, nylander, Marner, Tavares, maybe knies and the goalies

We need them to be superb in all facets of the game because we are missing so many pieces.

Add AM34, and it's no different than any other time.

So Robertson is the NHLer on his line?
Robertson gets an opportunity to show he's capable of supporting two rookies.
Would not surprise me if Minten is the most responsible, even as the youngest.

One would think the 4th. line with 2 experienced NHL players would get more ice.

Wonder if we'll see the Marlies line at some point?

Steeves-Minten-Grebenkin

Having Robertson play with potential AHL teammates. It’s a gamble that may pay off against Vegas tonight (I know he would get claimed it’s a joke)
