All these injuries and Alex Nylander can't get the call up?

I made a season prop bet with a friend... over 0.5 regular season games played together for the brothers.

There must be a way to get around the contract cap for emergency loans

He needs an NHL contract first of all. He is just not worth it. Rather have some young kids get a chance.

Nylander - 9 points -- 13 games, not on a NHL contract. 9th year pro.
Grebenkin - 10 points -- 13 games, on a NHL contract.... first year in North America

It should be easy to see why Nylander isn't getting called up.. he's not as good as the legitimate prospect, and isn't on a NHL contract.

Yep precisely. They could sign him to play in the NHL... but then he'd need waivers to go back down if they needed it.

Well he honestly sucks so it’s not surprising
He’s better than some of the players currently in our line up so there’s that

He’s playing with abruzeze and Shaw I’d temper the judging more goals than assists?

Add AM34, and it's no different than any other time.
as of now, I see him as reinforcements that will return. He's out now, it could be 1 game or 5 games but he isn't here so the others NEED to step up

The team's depth has always been at least somewhat existent, this year it's been below non-existent. Lorentz is legitamately our best offensive player in the bottom six, that includes domi with how horrendous he's been recently

At least guys like engvall, mikheyev, kase, even f***ing kerfoot chipped in 30 points. Robertson out here trying to be the best nhl player to not put any points up, and holmberg is worse than a warm body.

Two points in his last seven games... as a veteran... he's just not that good. Anyone in our lineup would have been doing much better in the AHL than him.

Don't let a couple of points with Columbus last year fool you. He's never been good enough to stick in the NHL, isn't a top tier AHL guy and he's not likely to figure it out all of the sudden at 26.

Did you ignore who he’s playing with ?lol

Officially... Alex Nylander has absolutely nothing to do with the Toronto Maple Leafs.

He is an AHL player for the Toronto Marlies.

In order for him to play for the Leafs, he'd need to be signed to a contract; which would not only take one of the 50 contract spots, but then require waivers to go down.

Given that the Leafs apparently expect Matthews back shortly, with Domi on regular IR (not LTIR), it would seem like a less than ideal time to get him up.

If anything, I might imagine that they'll do it right before the deadline as the 23-man roster limit goes away after the deadline.

Sure, he's 26, and the only reason he isn't playing in the NHL, is because he's been playing with poor players for a few games this year. Did you ignore that he was drafted in 2016, and isn't a NHL player, and doesn't have a NHL contract... for a reason? Somehow the whole world is wrong about Alex Nylander.

Don't you think if any of the other 31 teams thought he might help them, they'd offer him a NHL contract... .. I mean, he can sign one at anytime...

Maybe if he was actually good enough, he'd be carrying his linemates.. who one of mysteriously has more points than him.

He's just not good. Maybe watch some Marlies games...

Jesus, dropping like flies. Probably for the best though as he has been horrible of late. Guessing Nylander or Marner to C then? C depth is absolute shite right now.
Nylander pretty much played C the last couple of games, including taking most of the faceoffs, with a 56.3 winning percentage.

I don't see a guy as a center just because he takes some faceoffs.

nobody would call Zach Hyman a center but he took faceoffs on the PK when he was here.

As for Woll he better have the game of his life because it feels like half the roster is out.
With Kampf out I can see Mitch taking faceoffs on the PK more than him playing C.

Not expecting much in tonight's game. It will be interesting to see how the kid line fares. A win tonight would be very impressive.
