I just don't know why reporters ask these type of stupid questions. Gms never tell the truth when it comes to these type of things.
Vegas is the most unlikeable franchise in the NHL.
Why? It’s working for them, they’re on the cusp of a cup and have been in the mix every season. They’ve built a really strong team who cares if it’s not “Muh home grown core”?At some point here Vegas is going to need to start developing their own players that they drafted, right? They can't continue to just subsist on UFAs and trades....at some point this is all going to catch up with them.
It's not. They're taking advantage of their expansion draft where teams threw draft picks at them to take certain players. It's like joining a better site where they give up like 100 free chips to start. It's a one time deal and now they're left with few prospects and few picks not to mention an already aging roster. If they don't win a cup this year or maybe next this franchise is going to be broken for years to come. Why? It’s working for them, they’re on the cusp of a cup and have been in the mix every season. They will be for the next two years, but depending on the truth around Stone's back they'll be in for a rough ride. They’ll be fine.

They had 3 firsts and 2 seconds their first year, which they've turned into Stone and Patches (Glass flamed out and I'm not sold on Lesch). They had no '18 first, traded their first round pick in 2019 (Krebs) and didn't have a 2nd last year. If Brisson and Cotter don't turn into stars they're in trouble. They're pretty consistently ranked around 17-22 in prospect rankings, not terribly high but not the worst, especially for a contending team year after year.
The only rounds they don't have picks are this year's first and fourth (but an extra fifth) and next year's second (but an extra third)
The first five drafts they've had a first and second round pick every year apart from 2018 (no first but Morozov looks decent as a second) and 2020 (no second but Cormier looks decent as a third)
They cant trade for a retained Fleury. If they can get away with LTIRing Lehner and Stone until the playoffs
Dumping Broissont+ for Fluery at 50%
Dumping Dadonov somewhere
And roll into the playoffs with:
Pacioretty - Eichel - Stone
Marchessault - Karlsson - Smith
Carrier - Stephenson - Patrick
xxxx - Roy - Kolesar
Martinez - Pietrangelo
Hague - Theodore
McNabb - Whitecloud
Fleury
Lehner
then idk man. they gotta be favorites.

NaturallySo is Lehner the one going on LTIR until the playoffs?
Only in Tampa and Vegas, Both teams circumvent the cap til no end.The salary cap is a joke
I'm sure Fleury would be thrilled..
