Assuming Vegas doesn't miss the playoffs, the Sabres own VGK's 1st rounder in 2022. But right now, their 2022 and 2023 1st round picks are tied up conditionally via the Eichel trade. They might be able to word it like "CHI gets either VGK's 2023 or 2024 1st round pick --- CHI gets the 2023 1st rounder if BUF gets the 2022 1st, but CHI gets the 2024 1st if BUF gets the 2023".

Not sure Vegas wants to tie up 1sts until 2024 right now.

Correct. Either they would need to send quite a bit of cap out or Lehner/Martinez would have to be out for the season.
