Vegas Golden Knights - One of the Greatest Franchises Already?

Why did we claim to hate the Coyotes?
People called them a welfare franchise that was content to merely exist and take money from other franchises. They bemoaned that they were never good or attempted to use resources to ice a competitive team. Now the knights are spending to the cap, spending on coaching and gms that aren't intern level employees and people are still bitching.

Speaking of uninformed. Gretzky was projected as the next great one. He wasn’t passed over because he was too small. He was always thought of as being a superstar.

He signed with Indianapolis of the WHA as an 17 year old because teenagers couldn’t play in the NHL. He signed a $1.75 million dollar seven year personal services contract. Skalbania the owner was in financial difficulties and sold the contract to Edmonton of the WHA. They retained the contract when they joined the NHL.
Preaching to the choir. Who said Gretzky was passed over ? I didnt go into details because I didnt need to. Sometimes you need to dumb down the conversation to get through to some Canuck fans.

Translation: Sorry Mr. Orca I was wrong and don’t even know the history of my own team.
Lol these Canucksheads man.

My statement about scouts saying Gretzky was too small or too weak to make it is as true as the sky is blue. A simple Google search would suffice for uninformed know it all such as yourself😃

Coming to your clueless buddies rescue to make up a fake narrative isnt a good look

The one thing I’ll say for those turd sandwiches- they were willing to risk Eichel’s surgery, and that was good. Wonder how many teams would do that even now.

Man, we were losing him anyways, but it was such a painful process simply because our insurance wouldn’t cover the better option, just in case he got hurt. So Terry would be on the hook. Man, f*** insurance companies and Terry both, also Vegas except this one good thing.

Dumb uninformed logic.

Everyone thought Gretzky was too small for the NHL. The Oilers jumped at that and signed Gretzky before the Draft.

They Oilers Drafted Messier, Anderson, Kurri, beyond the first round. Arguable the greatest collection of talent drafted by one team within a 2 year span outside of round 1.

At least do some research instead of spewing nonsense like you usually do.

Vegas has had an incredible start , but will never top the Oilers start. Nobody will and nobody can anymore.
Those three draft picks turned out to be 2nd, 3rd and 4th in all time playoff points, insanity.

Again how does your point prove that Oilers did not have luck in getting Gretzky? Also having luck that he became the great one?

Also Vegas are doing things in a 32 team league with parity and all the teams on even playing field when it comes to finances and the cap. It's not the 80s so comparing it to 2026 NHL is pretty dumb.

Lol

Ayyo, this guy was living under a rock when they had the mandatory expansion draft where every team in the league had to leave protect only 7 to 8 players from thier roster.

They were literally handed a silver platter right from the start. They did well... but get real. Teams like the Oilers built everything from scratch and also took the initiative on Gretzky years ahead.

Just stop the nonsense now man 🤡

Canes obviously haven’t won a Cup in years but they are obviously constantly making blockbusters(trading Necas, trading Rantanen etc) and they are in the finals

You can't include Rantanen. They had him for like 20 days. Also whats the etc?

The Canes are way to conservative to be put in with the others. Trading for Miller last summer was good but they did nothing at the deadline this year to boost their team over the top. They are luck Taylor Hall decided to be good at hockey again for this stretch or they wouldnt be in the finals

It might be more toxic to root for Vegas than to root for Vegas to lose

The reason for this is because most people rooting for Vegas to win is to stick it to Toronto for pushing Marner out

whether he stayed or not, they still made a blockbuster to add him, and then another to trade him away... so why wouldn't he count exactly?

Most peopel are rooting for the Canes, the ones cheering for Vegas, are either toxic Leafs haters, Knights fans, or Flames fans that want a 2028 1st in teh Andersson trade.
