The Jets will pass. We are not trading Dubois.

Winnipeg gets absolutely shafted. A pair of 1Cs out is crippling. Take Dubois out and swap him for a winger (not even sure which), but then the trade makes absolutely no sense.

Not sure how anyone would suggest trading a teams 1C & 2C, plus taking into consideration the contracts terms going out and coming back.........not sure how anyone would think its even remotely fair trade.

Minnesota doesn't need Wingers..so declines. Dumba isn't getting traded
While I agree that it would be a no from both Winnipeg and Minnesota, Scheifele has not played wing in the NHL since his 9 game stint as a rookie before going back to the OHL in 2011. He has been a center every year of his career in the NHL.

As a fan of none of those teams, I think it’s pretty good.

It’s a win for Minnesota. They get a scoring, low end 1C for a meh 4th D and all it costs is a low 1st. Like this deal most for them. Like it least for Vancouver because JT Miller is the best player. But Boeser doesn’t have much value so value wise, it’s pretty even.

Well you can tell it is a Canuck fan post. Vancouver gives up the least and gets the most. Winnipeg gets shafted.
I agree is not a very good proposal, but Dumba + 2022-1st does not have more value than Miller + Boeser...

Except it's terrible for Winnipeg and not even close.

You get the trade’s very best player. JT Miller and another scoring winger in Boeser.

You unload your increasingly unpopular 1C and a low end middle pair type in Pionk and replace with a Dumba guy in the same range of player as a defender. Lateral move defensively.

Only PLD is a real loss. And he’s replaced by a better player in JT Miller.

Still doesn’t solve Pegs real problem. Winnipeg doesn’t have a single defender worthy of top pair status. You don’t really have a number 3 either. Pegs D is a collection of 4 thru 7 types. When a Dumba or Pionk is your best defender, your collection of assets on defense… sucks.

Contracts are much worse in OP that Jets get, easy pass from the Jets.

The very best player and best contract is JT Miller. Agree the Boeser deal sucks. As does the Dumba one. So in general, you make a good point.

At least you’ll have cap space soon and need to rebuild. Peg needs a star defender in the worst way.

I don't believe that after 1 career season for Miller that he is now worth much more than Scheifele. And HF can spare the defense narrative on Scheifele. He's on pace for his 6th straight season of a point per game and now people want to single out his defense. It's poor, but hasn't always been and the coaching staff has been abysmal. Scheifele also has an extra year on his deal. At worse they are a wash. Increasingly unpopular is not true, the narrative for Scheifele is that with him and Wheeler (and Hellebucyk) having contracts coming up that it might be time to re-build around a younger group of players.

And now the Jets are also trading their other top 6 C who is much younger than any piece they get back.

Pionk also has 3 years left on his contract and Dumba 1. Boeser also needs a new deal and it's obvious the Canucks don't want to pay it because they know he won't be worth it.

So the Jets are losing 2 top 6 C's, and getting 1 back who also needs a new deal and lose their young top 6 C for really no gain. They have to give Boeser a new deal which won't be a good use of cap space, and also have to give new deals for Miller and Dumba.

Altogether stupid for Winnipeg.

Agreed. Trying to paint it as a good deal for Winnipeg is absolutely nonsensical.

I'd say it's close. Miller might be worth slightly more than Dumba but with Boeser's new contract coming up, I think the 1st is move valuable than him.

A PPG C for the past 6 seasons.
