Beautiful B.C.
I'm guessing the "players that haven't won anything" part.

Not arguing, just answering.
Thats the most self explanatory part, Horvat and Myers have never won anything important in this league. (I think Myers has a calder but so does Raycroft so, yeah.)

We are a team renowned for not being able to get over the hump, bringing in more guys who havent won anything doesnt exactly help that, especially for that ridiculous price tag.

This isnt Anze Kopitar or patty kane or anybody who has achieved something. This is a captain whos only ever been to the playoffs twice and Tyler Myers.

The picks cover the costs of retention, I guess, but a tiny winger prospect and an offensive minded LHD aren't of any use to us, even as prospects. We'd need a center and RHD to replace the the ones going out, so I'd be asking for Knies and Liljegren.

Myers is trash, but Horvat has elevated his play in both playoffs he's been in - which is exactly what you want, no?

Pearson won the cup, are you saying you'd prefer him over Horvat then? Marner has won nothing, Nylander has won nothing... doesn't mean they couldn't help you win

TORONTO
Easy pass from this leafs fans, not giving up that many futures/ ELC/ young promising contracts for 2 guys who havent won anything anywhere and the more valuable of which can walk in the offseason.
Robertson and sandin have won nothing . This is time for leafs to win ,, not waiting another 5 years for sandin and Robertson to develop.

I’m vexed why Toronto needs another C. Because that seems like the one position they don’t have a pressing need.

Vancouver- Bo Horvat 50% retained, Myers 50%retained
Toronto - 1st 2023, 2nd 2024, Robertson, Sandin

Only if Muzzin is out on LTIR for the season

Horvat- Tavares- Nylander

Rielly- Myers
Sorry buddy, maybe Horvat, but not moving Myers until next years TDL where he brings something good in and is not a cap dump...........

PS
Horvat brings in more than that not retained in a sign and trade

Horvat unlike the Leafs actually knows what it feels like to win a round.

Yeah, TML should add Pat Maroon instead. He's won before so he's clearly the better move.

OMG lOLOL YEAH AND ALSO UWE KRUPP AND DARREN MCCARTY!

Right?

But seriously, your rationale doesn't really stand up to scrutiny.

The price is high and I'm not saying it's a perfect match for TML. But to reject it based on that the players aren't "winners" doesnt really make sense. No one is a winner until they, you know, win. Doesn't mean they're not talented and valuable players especially at half cap hit.

You dont have to like it but the leafs arent spending those kinds of assets on a third line center and a terrible bottom pairing defenceman that makes 6 million before retention, them being inexperienced in the playoffs for how old they are just magnifies how they are not a target worth spending more than minimal assets on.

I would 100% take Horvat on this team at 50%, i would not be willing to give up any asset listed in this proposal for him because hes not a need and he has no experience winning.

I would 100% not take Myers on this team at any retention unless he was coming back with assets that made sense for Toronto.

Neither of these scenarios makes sense for Vancouver.

Which part of it are you finding difficult to understand?
It seems your saying you not interested in players who haven't won anything while having a team full of players who haven't won anything. Jut seems strange.

You don't want to acquire 2 players that were on a team that WON a playoff series against the Stanley Cup Champions...How many rounds have the Leafs won lately with a team that seems to always be top 5 in stanley cup winner odds each season oddly enough!
