Joffrey Lupul, Tobias Lindberg & Leafs 2017 third round pick for Luca Sbisa.

Vancouver takes on Lupul's (age 32) contract with 2 remaining years at $5,250,000 per year along with Lupul's major injury prone reputation.

Toronto takes on Sbisa's (age 26) contract with 2 remaining years at $3,600,000 per year along with Sbisa's reputation as a hard hitting but inconsistant defenseman.

Honestly Sbisa is a fine bottom paring dman his bad play is way overblown on here, he gets paid too much sure, but I'd rather just keep him, then take on Lupul's contract. So no from the Canucks end.

No thanks not giving up a third and a potential bottem 6 prospect to get rid of 2 years of Lupel while taking a cap dump who only saves like 1.6 Million per year. If we want we could just buy Lupel out next year when he has 1 year left and give up no assets.

Pass, lindberg has legit top 9 potential and a 3rd is a 3rd and will probs be a high one since Leafs. To add Sbisa does nothing for us instead makes it worse by having him then Lupul honestly.

Pretty bad for Toronto. Cap space is not an issue for them right now, so Idon't see why they should be giving away assets to dump 1.6 million off of the books. By the time Toronto will be in cap trouble, Lupul's contract will already be off of the books

Yep. Great idea. Because both fan bases haven't been at each other's throats enough the past week.

But actually regarding the proposal no from the Leafs. Would rather just deal with having Lupul for the next two years. The just under $2 million in savings over the next two years isn't worth Lindberg and a third.

Rather run with Sbisa than Lupul. Right direction in player thought though, just someone who isn't a 5.25m 40 game player.
Sbisa at least brings a physical element to his game that has always lacked in Vancouver save for Bieksa once in awhile and Rome when he was around. Gudbranson Sbisa Tryamkin is a good start to add some toughness to a pretty bland defence core last season. Sbisa also missed significant time.
I don't like his 3.6m price tag, but I'd prefer him over some of the free agents who signed for similar money. Least he's been here long enough to know the coaches system, what's expected of him and is still only like what 26/27?

Just doesn't make sense. If we were contenders i'd get it. But to move assets to get rid of a contract that will run out just in time for when we get somewhat competitive doesn't make sense.

Not to mention that Lupol's contract is front loaded while Sbisa's is inexplicably back loaded. Sbisa makes more in actual dollars than Lupol next year.

Pass for me from Canucks both players over paid but Lupul doesn't even play always hurt and bigger cap.

Sbisa has more value on LTIR than on the ice, him playing more games isn't a good thing. At least Lupul can kinda look like a middle-6 winger when he plays.

Ah no, the Leafs have a cheaper better version of Sbisa in Polak. We don't need to waste a solid top 9 prospect and a 3rd on an eighttrac when we already have the cassette.

Lupul could last pass for a top 6 in 2013/14 he's a black hole at the cap hit he has now.

???
lupul when healthy is a middle 6 player no doubt about it in any leafs fans mind, and if hes hurt hes on ltir, hes not really a problem for us, and sbisa whos way worse as a dman the lupul a forward, contract included. And theres other pieces involved, this is a very bad deal for toronto.

Well we can agree that neither team wants this at least.
