GDT: Vancouver @ Toronto- 7pm HNIC

I hate how NHL does the records of the teams. 18-13-10 looks kinda ok, doesn't it? But to me, they are 18-23. I don't get it, it's so dumb. The NHL would actually officially consider them 5 games above .500. But they only won 18 of 41 games. That's not .500. The game should be about getting wins. Period.

I think the point is to give fans of even really bad teams the illusion that their team isn't really that bad.

And yes, I kind of do the same thing as you when looking at the standings: Seeing a 18-13-10 team as 18-23.

This is Vancouver's 3rd game in 4 nights

2nd game of a back to back

With travel

I'm assuming no Demko because he played last night.

And they didn't get in until what?, 1 PM? I'm not exactly sure but it was VERY late.

They need to Jump on Vancouver like they did in the first 8 minutes against Carolina and this time finish it.

Hildeby in net does make me nervous because if he can play like he did against Philadelphia and get his record to 4-1 that's going to start to go away, not completely but that process will begin.

Oh man, I feel like we aren't good at taking advantage of these circumstances.

Tavares and Patch are too slow to play together.
They are likely to be caved in by any line with speed.

This ends one of two ways.

An obscene Leafs blowout, 7-2 or something which is something you always like seeing against a team as unlikable as Vancouver.

Or a scrappy 3-2 Canucks OT win.

KInda funny Vancouver sucks ass then suddenly has this huge year off the back of unsustainable PDO.. Their fans make fun of it all year then the next as everyone expected they suck again

Honestly, this absolutely should be a "schedule loss". Back to back, travel day (delayed flight), 3 in 4, last game of a road trip, have lost 5 in a row with serious locker room issues.

There's no way the Nucks win this because they're "scrappy." If they win it's because the Leafs mailed it in.

The loser point and its consequences have been a disaster for society, teams playing for a point and half assing it to get to OT. There's always some team that shouldn't be there and gets smoked because they went to OT 18-20 times.

2 for a regulation win.
2 for an OT/SO.
0 for losing.
I prefer 2 points for the win a point for a tie and have the teams play for an extra point in an overtime period.

I think Woll needs to be used more carefully. He looked a little sloppy early going in Philly and was very soft vs Carolina. You gotta make sure he isn't over taxed physically or mentally.

The Leafs need a massive rebound effort vs Vancouver, that's the key first and foremost.

The Philly game he was very active and busy, uncharacteristically. He needs a reset, not a bad call tonight. Hildeby played well last game, might as well see what he has, let Woll rest for Dallas.

Must be a minute thing with OEL, why wouldn't you give a career PP guy a stint?
