On March 20th, 2025, the Vancouver Canucks face off against the newly minted St. Louis Lambs in a crucial clash for playoff positioning. With both teams clawing their way back into the postseason picture, this game promises to be a barn burner.

The Canucks will be looking to their star forward, Elias Pettersson, to shepherd the offense through the Lambs' (hopefully) porous defense. Expect to see some dazzling dekes and highlight-reel goals as Pettersson weaves his magic. Between the pipes, the Canucks will rely on the steady hands of Kevin Lankinen, who will undoubtedly be facing a barrage of woolly attacks.

The Lambs, meanwhile, are likely to employ a strategy of "hope and baa." Their offense, let's be honest, is about as potent as a wet wool sock. And their defense? Well, let's just say they're hoping the Canucks lose interest and wander off to graze.

This game has all the makings of a classic: high-flying offense, questionable defense, and perhaps a few bewildered sheep wandering onto the ice. Let the baa-ttle commence!

Who's ready to witness the Canucks shear the Lambs and secure two crucial points in this playoff push?

Venue: St Louis Farmland

I had to eat a lot of crow with Binnington after the 4 Nations Faceoff - but I hope we light him up tomorrow.

Just win!

Me too, but I got the stomach of a cast-iron boiler.

As I once heard a comedian say "There's not much more you can do to a Scot that he hasn't done to himself after he's made himself and eaten his breakfast."

Looking forward to this one. Pretty hard to look at out top3 lines and see much of a formidable opponent but Hughes and how good our defence has been with 40 finally looking dangerous can tip things in our favour.

6 game roadie is gonna make or break us.....need stand out step up performances from the likes of Boeser Lekkerimaki Hoglander and Suter to continue to have any chance of coming back still holding down 8th place

After last night's strong performance, this is a guaranteed loss. This group just can't stack good performances onto good performances.

Myers with at least 4 minor penalties.

EP40 will have his falls/60 go through the roof.

Lankinen likely to let in 2 low danger goals against.

PP will keep their fans in the game.

Billie Goal Gruff will be in peak 4 Nations mode, and is going to laugh in Boeser's face.

Tocchet will play the 5 man unit of BB-EP-JDB-QH-FH every second shift. But only in the 3rd. First 2 periods he'll give EP40 slightly less 5v5 ice time than Karlsson gets.

PK will be good though, going 6 for 7.

Then we get JTM followed by Quinn's personal kryptonite (NJD). Seasons done folks. No expectations = no disappointments.

To avoid this from happening I think the Canucks should just out score the Blues in the game

Pretty well the season on the line tomorrow night in St. Loo. With the 'win', not only would the Blues go up by two points in the last wildcard race, but they'd be three wins ahead of the Canucks in the ROW category.

And looking at the schedules, they have far easier closing stretch of games than the Canucks. Obviously a loss won't 'eliminate' the Canucks. In Gary Bettman's world of three point games, the final nail in the coffin usually stretches into early April for a lot of 'bubble teams'.

But the playoff 'hill' turns into a 'mountain' for the Canucks with a regulation loss.

Watching Blues last game, McCarron leveled Buchnevich with a head shot and 2 blues immediately went after him, it was the much smaller Jake Neighbors who fought him. Just goes to show it doesn't have to be a 4th line goon handling the business it's a team mentality that there not going to be messed with.
