Burrows fights Kopitar... still to this day I don't think I've seen anything more chicken **** that that.

I'll never forget the photo of Mike Richards on the bench banging his stick on the boards rooting from the bench for Kopitar to kill Burrows. Richards looked like he wanted to bash someone's head in. Crazy eyes.

Lined up a great cabin in big bear two months ago for the girlfriend's birthday weekend. Knew I'd miss this game but didn't think it would be so important.

Brownie points for sure but tough to miss only 4-5 games a year and have this be one of them.

Still scheming to stay in the cabin for as long as possible in order to watch it on tv so the new moniker may not stick.

Take her out to a nice lunch. A local pub might be fun and romantic. Oh look they have the game on.

So this is pretty much the season right here if they lose, correct?

Nope what happens with Calgary is more important.
Winning here gives the Kings another way into the playoffs but they can catch Calgary and The Jets as well.

Kings are right in the middle of a crowded playoff hunt. A win or loss won't define the season. It's one game. Kings are one point behind Calgary with a game in hand.

The Kings played three 'must wins' last year. All on the road. And they took care of business.

Until a loss ends the season, nothing is a must win.

Good to know this won't make or break our season. I haven't really been able to follow things lately because of personal reasons...

He's activated so it will be interesting what happens on the road trip. I heard Pearson is going on road trip also, but hasn't been activated yet.

It won't literally end the season but a loss here is very bad because of the upcoming road trip. We play a team we always struggle with in NJD, two of the top teams in the NHL back to back (NYR/NYI), travel over to play suddenly unstoppable Minny, and then over to Chicago. I'd love to be surprised with more than 3 wins there, but counting today, going 4-2 in those games would be a success in my eyes. Anything less puts us in a scary spot down the stretch that we CAN work thru but we would suddenly need a lot of trends to correct, like bad third periods with the lead, puck luck/crap bounces, etc.

On the other hand, we thrive on adversity so who ever knows until we are mathematically eliminated

This is huge because it's one of those "control your fate" games we have discussed.

That it is. If they get a lead, for the love of christ, hang onto it. Tired of all the nail chewing 3rd periods.
