On the mindset of starting playoffs after a “difficult” stretch of hockey:
Got to get your top guys … for sure, that’s my job, and that’s their responsibility. Our top guys are our captains and our best players, and I think out of Jeff and Looch and Tyler, I think they played really well tonight. I think that our other top guys have not played very well since we got a playoff spot.

Yeah, you knew you weren't going to miss any goals by the Kings. I'm starting to wonder if the 3rd period is the Bermuda Triangle for the Kings.

Does anyone know if there's any pro sports team worldwide that has blown more leads this year than the Kings?
Or at least in the NHL and/or in the big North American leagues? I'm really curious to know, as I don't think there is.

Also, from now on the focus has to be on our playoff opponent, the San Jose Sharks.

Meh - consider me not worried. I like the SJ -> ANA -> CHI -> CUP path. Especially the low amount of travel before the CF.

And when was the last time the Kings played a playoff game like it was a regular season game?

I can't believe we spent all last year just trying to make the playoffs with everyone saying, "If we get in, watch out!" but this year we're going out early because we're not dominating in the last week of the season.

Also, my path comment was supposed to lightly imply that perhaps the Kings didn't care too much about winning the division and traveling back and forth to Tennessee in the first round.

If I'm worried about anything right now, it's that SJ has extra motivation after the reverse-sweep. That said, they're still the Sharks and it's still the playoffs.

By the reaction on this thread they clearly have done it to some Kings fans. The team that smoked Dallas an Chicago on the road, is probably closer to what this team is than the one that is now in coasting mode.

Last year I was more confident than this year which I know is an absurd statement. Last year LA seemed more like the team that once up in a game would win 99.9% of the time. This year I feel like no lead is safe. I liked RR in our D group last year over Schenn, and I thought the Canucks would be an easy first round matchup. This year I am worried about San Jose/Nashville, or at least a lot more worried than I would have been about Vancouver last year.

I think Anaheim is a lot better this year than last too.

easy now. If this is in response to my post in no way am I quitting on this team. I am jacked to be in the playoffs again and am still blown away that we are lucky enough to watch the best kings team in the history of the franchise.
That said I was more confident in the team and path last year. I do not see anything wrong with that.

Better to just not post anything at all? Maybe fans post in here because they care? Then again the post game threads are getting shorter and shorter which shows most of us don't give much of a crap at this point until the playoffs role along, much like the Kings' attitude towards these remaining games.

I just can't get into posting during the game cause I'm into the game. I try to come into the threads and chat but the negativity just kills me as i work hard to look at and live in a positive way. i guess this is why I stay away from most of the social media as people will say whatever when it's from miles away from behind a keyboard.
