That's a good contract. $7.75M is a reasonable cap hit considering the length of the pact. Svech's deal is better due to the 8-year length, but there might've been some contender's discount given to Carolina there.

Who cares? It's less than 8m for a top 5 offensive defenseman. It's up to Vancouver to balance out the rest of the defense. Its a fine contract for his skillset, especially considering term and age.
