I love how these kind of threads just spawn awful trade proposals for the other team in response to an awful trade proposal for your team.

Pearson and Schenn for Kapanen? How generous, a guy the Penguins threw aside in the past and has been ass for Vancouver in the last 2 years and a waiver caliber tough guy for Kapanen.

Just using the same logic that Pens fans use when they think the Canucks are going to make some terrible trade for Kapanen.

Didn’t realize Podkolzin was the second coming.

who said he was the second coming? That said, I bet you he’s a much better player than KK in a few years time.

And why would Podkolzin not be viewed by Canuck fans as a ‘top prospect’. He’s 20yrs old and was drafted 10th overall a couple of years ago. This is only his 1st season in the league.

I guess you view Sam Poulin as a throw in then too?

how about Halak for Poulin?

Kapanen is a 25 year old who has produced at a 50 pt pace this season and last.

I can see Podkolzin being the young mystery box version of Kapanen. On one hand he can be the boat you hope for or he can be the Kapanen he turned into.

A team with an eye for the future goes mystery box if they have an idea of what the floor is.

I like Kapanen. Wouldn't mind adding him though the cap doesn't really make sense.

Didnt know you are the GM of Pittsburgh lol
Hextall as general manager and former goalie in the NHL will decide if he needs to replace DeSmith . If he feels its necessary he will likely make a trade for #2 goalie .
That trade is unlikely to be with Vancouver for Halak..

There is nothing I like about the OP.

I don't like the return pieces, I don't like what we give up, I don't like the value, I don't like getting older (Halak aside) and I don't like the mistmatch in salary/cap.

I honestly don't know if the idea is to dump Kapanen or pick up Podkolzin.

But another firm pass from this Canucks fan.

This trade proposal makes me think that OP normally plays NHL with trades on "auto-accept" but he actually started a new franchise and forgot to turn that setting on. Then you get bodied with a response like this one, that makes you question all your life choices.

Tough one OP; try again tomorrow.
