Confirmed with Link: [VAN/NYR] JT Miller, Erik Brannstrom, & Jackson Dorrington for Filip Chytil, Victor Mancini, and 1st 2025 (Top-13 Protected, Unprotected after)

Management has really lost its shine for me. Pettersson is still here and pisses me off because he’s a reason this has all happened too.

Fire everyone into the sun including me.

Eh, f***ing shit return. Though given the circumstances a f***ing shit return is to be expected.

Seems like Allvin and Moleman are dead set on recovering the season, what happens when (when, not if, WHEN) that fails?

Also, now Pete got his wish. If he puts up more limp dick performances, the fans will show no mercy.

Bingo.

Drury made Allvin and Rutherford think they got a "win" here by not retaining anything on Miller.

When in reality, they never expected the Canucks to retain because they got him for pennies on the dollar.

Just when I was forgetting what it was like to see your GM get completely outsmarted by another GM, the Allvin and Rutherford stepped right up.
They've given up a first round pick, which could be as high as 14 for this season and is unprotected for next season. whatever else is in the trade, which yeah I'm not high on, that's not pennies on the dollar imo

I genuinely don’t understand why they do this if this was the only offer they could get when there will be more opportunities for teams in the off season to make a big splash.

Also I’m not sure why people think Rangers are going to fall off next year. They’ve had a ridiculously unlucky season but they’re still a good team. This is just copium.

Not only all of this, but I get the feeling we are now going to get to watch this management team struggle (and fail) to compete now! so that Hughes doesn't leave with the ultimate result being lots of win now moves that don't end up working, f*** us for the future, and see Hughes leave to New Jersey in a couple of years anyway.

Rather a hard reset/rebuild/scorched earthy policy, as unrealistic as this may be, then where we are heading. Think Calgary 2.0 post Tkachuk and Goudreau,

Yup. We’re f***ed.

Pettersson for Necas or something maybe keeps our window open. This does not.

We had 4 elite players a year ago and now Miller is gone, Demko is wrecked, and Pettersson is a human tampon.

I honestly don’t even know where we go from here.

99.43% chance they talked to Quinn who he'd prefer to stay

Quinn chose EP

miller must have been really bad in the locker room

still what is this return

Based on Miller's play this season I'd say the price is about right, maybe a little love given the prospect and player.

Rutherford and Allvin got COOKED...

This is an awful return... I would have rather held on...

Might as well blow it up and trade away Petey, Boeser, Hronek, and Quinn while we are at it. No way Quinn is staying around for another rebuild.

Wow...

At the end of the day I still blame the players involved for not figuring their shit out. What a disaster, not only of a trade but of a situation in general that this team now finds itself in.

It all went to hell after the ASG last year and everyone could tell that they were a shell of a hockey team in the playoffs, despite how hard they worked to get to the stage they did.

Digesting and some thoughts.

- Return was going to be terrible. Other teams smelled blood as the situation in Vancouver became untenable and these idiots forced Vancouver’s hand.

- Have to think the hill Vancouver tried and to die on here was getting that 1st round pick. Wonder if that’s the reason for changing from Lindgren to Mancini (disclosure: I know nothing about Mancini other than he has put up some okay-ish stats this year)

- I hope this means Petey stays. I’m pissed at him too, but we simply can’t afford to trade away two franchise level centers for scraps. Hopefully he’s able to regain his form now that the spectre of Miller has been dealt away.

- Wonder how hard Miller comes at Petey the next time we play NYR.

- I think either our 1st or the 1st we just acquired will very shortly be in play for a defensemen. Dobson is a pipe dream without big adds, but man would I love that. Canucks sure seem to like Byram. I don’t know who it’ll be, but that’s what I think will occur.
